The film "Seven": reviews of film fans

The mystical, sacred number 7 is the common sacral symbol of all existing religions, beginning with the most ancient - the cultures of the Ancient East. Therefore it is not at all surprising that one of the most cult and powerful drama thrillers with a detective bias - the film "Seven" (reviews position it exactly this), many equate to the "Seven Wonders" of cinema.

From clipmakers to cult directors

American director David Fincher, in the past popular clipmaker, caused a lot of malicious, sarcastic remarks in his address, when he shot a fantastic horror film "Alien 3." However, this reaction did not cool the creative fervor of the genius, and just on the eve of his 33 anniversary he presented to the general public the detective thriller "Seven", which put all his detractors in the place. A decent amount of box office (almost like the "Silence of the Lambs") confirmed - Fincher managed to find the coveted principle of "spectator progression", doubling the amount spent on the shooting. Masterfully preserved the intrigue, with highly artistic aesthetic tricks passed both on the border between high-flown cinematography and "cinematographs for everyone." Such a success was unpredictable for the painting "Seven." The film of 1995, fortunately, did not repeat the fate of the film "Suspects of the person", which deservedly received two "Oscars" and high ratings of film critics, but it had very modest results of the rental.

A fuss around the film

Opponents tried to reproach the film "The Seven" (1995) - testimonies as evidence - in excessive readiness, intentional capture of capricious and unusual spectator preferences, careful verifications, as if in what is listed above, there is something vicious. However, for the little-known film company New Line Cinema, which was considered a "newcomer" or even a "half-millioner" in Hollywood, the atmosphere of general excitement around the Fincher film was just as pleasantly unexpected as for the Miramax movie company the indisputable box office triumph of the "Pulp Fiction" . And let the film "Seven" (the reviews mark this fact) does not open new unexplored horizons in the cinema as an art, but it is well-deservedly still considered one of the examples of the thriller. Trying to leave on the wave of Fincher's success, director Michael Mann hurried to release a criminal novel "Fight", using "Seven" as a "mainstream pattern."

7 deadly sins - as the basis of the plot

A cool and exciting detective thriller about the killer maniac illustrates "seven deadly sins", reminding of punishment to those who ignore them or forgot about prohibitions. They were compelled to sit down for the writings and main characters of the film - two team-mates, the inexperienced and young - David Mills (Brad Pitt) and the wise black cop William Somerset (Morgan Freeman). Before revealing the criminal, the police rummaged through a multitude of books, including the scriptures, before they approached the key necessary to solve the seemingly unrelated and inexplicable monstrous crimes.

Maniac is a moral absolutist

The main antagonist, "decorating" the film "Seven" (reviews of individual users extol his ingenuity to the skies), was more than witty. He repeatedly confounded the detectives, who are used to thinking more than one-dimensional. He sacrificed every sacrifice with an obvious demonstration of his superiority, learning and wit. Being a moral absolutist and wishing to become famous, he publicly punished those inhabitants, who were characterized by voluptuousness, gluttony, laziness, stinginess and arrogance. Well, the apotheosis was to be the culmination of uncontrolled anger, even if sincere and even justified, since the object of this feeling was personally volens nolens, the above-mentioned manipulator-murderer.

Drawing creator in the style of black humor

"Seven" - a film (reviews on ImhoNet specifically describe this fact), which has a veiled director's joke in the credits. At the very beginning, all the titles appear as if someone with an invisible hand scratches them with a blade on the glass - a beautiful, simply exemplary image of insanity, in which the assassin appropriates the title of the inevitable and ruthless Rock. But the final titles crawl backwards, albeit in the same crooked manner. Trifle, it would seem, however, what a capacious and clever trick the creator! All the same sins are revealed, the secret traditionally becomes obvious, it remains to be surprised at the ability of the maniac to see the perspective. This so-called "criminal demiurge", holding in awe townspeople and policemen, was played by Kevin Spacey, who in parallel managed to act as a demonic criminal in the movie "Suspects" and receive an Oscar.

Seeing the "Seven", remember the seven deadly sins

The film "Seven" reviews is mostly laudatory, if only because, having seen it, the ignorant learn about the seven deadly sins, and the forgotten ones will remember. No wonder the filmmakers are boldly immersed in cinematographic and cultural studies for the sole purpose of obtaining the desired formula of success for the viewer. They managed not only to make the viewer think about the way and style of their life, but also told about the artfulness and cunning of modern murderers who at times are not so crazy, and not at all stupid.

And again seven

The film "Seven Lives" reviews the film unanimously called drama. The plot tells the story of the fake tax inspector Tim Thomas (Will Smith), who is actually a meaningless life designer of spaceplanes and rolls around the city in search of really good townsfolk who can mow down a fine. Thomas purposefully distributes the state money to the poor, but at the same time he sacrifices his organs (kidney, part of the lung, etc.). The most amazing donation is the eyes of the protagonist, who resignedly submits to the blind pianist, the hero of Woody Harrelson. Such a conscious pressure of the director Gabriela Muchchino brings an impressionable audience to a frenzy. Imagine, the protagonist, cut by the surgeons, after the fourth "scrap" of the organ, suffers in agony in the bathroom after the deadly bite of the jellyfish. "Ambulance" is already rushing to him, and he writes a message to his beloved woman, because he bequeathed her heart to her.

Not a drama, but a sci-fi newsreel

To the climax of the drama "The Seven Lives" (reviews about the film are diametrically opposed), in the eyes of the unfortunate nervous spectator in the eyes of the wall are bloody black boys and there is an awareness that he looked just that not a murderous sample of the newfangled camp, but a controversial issue of a sci-fi newsreel. And that in the end - guilty Will Smith, blind Woody Harrelson, a weak-hearted Rosario Dawson and hope for a positive therapeutic effect. Sob, by the way, you can start right away, with the first frames.

Crime comedy

Quite differently position and characterize the movie "The Seven Psychopaths" reviews of the film. This is a real tragicomedy, created by a director and screenwriter in one person - Martin McDonagh, he managed to create a parody of a parody, an unrestrained celebration of postmodernity and a feast of spirit. Compare his work with the pictures of Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez and Guy Ritchie, and not by accident, because in it brutal humor is thoroughly mixed with unobtrusive, subtle and allegorical in equal proportions. And it is extremely difficult to unequivocally determine the genre of what is happening during the timekeeping of the plague action. This is a comedy of hyperabrasive, road-movie, parody thriller, national anthem of national schizopathy. The cast looks like a performance of the star galaxy - Tom Waits, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell and Ukrainian Sophie Marceau - Olga Kurylenko. The characters of the film will do unthinkable things: burn people alive, demolish their heads from a shotgun, shoot at the woman's belly, saw unsympathetic chainsaw. This is the exclusive charm of psychopaths in the rivers of blood. Some watchers admitted that "Seven ..." is a horror film for the faint-hearted, but they will not appreciate the present irony.
