Empty cities in China (photo)

In 2010, the company "Goselektroseti" PRC held a census of electric counters of subscribers from 660 cities. As a result of this event, a strange fact emerged. As a result of the census, there were zero of 65.4 million apartments on the counters. That is, no one lives in these squares. As it turned out, since 2000 China has been building ghost towns. More than twenty constructed items remain uninhabited. Why do China need empty cities? Let's try to understand the article.

No housing crisis

It is difficult to believe that in an overpopulated country, where the birth of every child is considered a crime, there are empty cities. In China, new buildings, highways, shops, parking lots, kindergartens, offices are being built. Of course, housing is provided by engineering and communication networks, water supply, electricity, sewerage. Everything is ready for life. However, China does not hurry to send its citizens to empty cities. What is the reason for their appearance?

One of the options

Why does China build empty cities? The government of the country holds sacred a secret, leaving only the possibility of assuming the true purpose of these points. There is an opinion that empty cities in China are just a "duck". However, there are pictures of these uninhabited points. Here it is worth saying that getting a photo of an empty city, in general, is not difficult. In any, even a large metropolis, there is a period when there are no people or cars on the streets. As a rule, it happens in the early morning. Well, if you can not catch such a moment, you can use many well-known program Photoshop. On this opinion, however, there are also objections. First of all, it should be said that the Chinese themselves do not deny the existence of such cities. In addition, there are reliable images from satellites. They clearly see that in the heat of the day there is no one on the streets, and there are no cars in the parking lots.

"Conspiracy theory"

There is also an opinion that every empty city in China stands on huge underground shelters. They are designed to receive several hundred million inhabitants. Thus, the government of Beijing makes it clear to the authorities of Washington and Moscow that the country is quite ready for a nuclear war. As is known, underground shelters are considered the most effective way of protecting the population from damaging factors (penetrating radiation, shock wave, radioactive contamination, radiation).

Empty cities in case of disaster

According to another assumption, the government of Beijing, anticipating an imminent change of power in the US, is preparing housing for its citizens who are currently in America, but will be ready to leave it in the event of an economic collapse. A version is also put forward that empty cities will become a refuge for the inhabitants of the Celestial Empire in case of an ecological catastrophe, when the water will cover all the coastal territories. And houses are erected on the most remote sites.

Investment

According to another version, empty cities are a monetary contribution of the government. The authorities of Beijing considered that it is more profitable to keep money in real estate than on accounts of Western banks. In this regard, and build a monumental, but empty cities - just in case. Again, this opinion can be argued. How long can an empty city last? The photos presented in the article quite fully illustrate these uninhabited points - some of them have been standing for more than 10 years. They will stand still for 20 years, what will happen to them next? If the empty cities so no one will settle, they will have to be demolished, most likely.

New holiday villages

All empty cities are really built off the coast. At the same time, the least earthquake-prone areas are chosen for their erection. Actually, this can all be explained. If there is a choice of terrain, where to lead such monumental construction, it is better to immediately reinsure and provide adequate protection to future residents, at least from an earthquake and a flood.

Kanbashi and Ordos

The above mentioned version of a profitable investment. In this assumption there is some truth. Many owners bought the apartments from the developers at the initial stages of construction. Now the cost of living space has increased several times. As it became known from some sources, apartments in houses in Ordos have their owners. One of its districts - Kanbashi - is located twenty kilometers from the center. It is built in the middle of the desert. The area is estimated at about 500,000 people. However, it looks absolutely empty, because it constantly has about 30 thousand. In fact there are almost no vacant apartments in the district. Ordos is considered one of the richest Chinese cities. It stands on deposits of natural gas and coal. At the same time, the Kanbashi area for its residents is something like a dacha. They come there for the weekend. It should also be said that the number of people who want to work and live in Ordos increases every year. From this it follows that apartments in houses, even those built 20 km from the center, are constantly becoming more expensive.

A spoon of tar

Without it, almost no major undertaking is possible even in a country like China. Any large-scale construction is based on state subsidies. To control the movement of funds appointed responsible officials. However, not all of them are clean on hand. Periodically, someone comes across major embezzlement and fraud. So, for example, a fairly large settlement of Qingshuihe began to be built in 1998. However, over the next ten years it was never completed. By the way, the average city of 500 thousand people is being built in China in about 6-7 years. The money allocated for Qingshuihe disappeared magically. The perpetrators, of course, were found and brought to justice, but the settlement was never completed. For a long time it stands abandoned and absolutely unsuitable for living. However, the history of this village is more an exception than the rule.

Finally

Most experts still tend to the version associated with sound economic planning. In China, the population is constantly increasing, houses are being built. People go to work on construction sites, receive a decent salary. In this case, of course, they all pay taxes. With savings, people invest them in real estate. Often they buy the same apartments that they once built themselves. Thus, there is a uniform population of empty areas. According to statistics, every year a huge number of people move from villages to larger settlements. And the former Chinese metropolises will soon not be able to accommodate all comers. For those who do not want to live in the village, the government provides an opportunity to purchase an apartment in a new district.
