Dynamo machine: the transformation of energy of energy into energy of electricity

Those who still remember school days probably did not forget the feeling of involvement in a small miracle in the physics lesson, where the teacher visually demonstrated the transformation of the man's muscular energy into electricity. Modest in size and capabilities, a dynamo without any wires with sockets and batteries with the rotation of the handle lit a light bulb - and the faster the pen was rotated, the brighter it burned.

To the feeling of a miracle, however, a healthy skepticism was mingled: a century of electricity, rosettes almost at every step, batteries stacked. So is it worth working with your hands and feet, if they are the fruits of great discoveries?

But what will you do, lost in the three pines and discover that the charge of your newfangled gadget or even an old cell phone at absolute zero?

With an idea that has already been celebrated for more than a century and a half, among other things, those who, as a child, drove on their own on a two-wheeled vehicle were very familiar. The simplest dynamo-car for a bicycle, assembled literally on the knee and fixed on the front wheel, fed from the free energy of the rotation of the pedals a light bulb that illuminated the way it gleamed.

The advantages of Faraday's discovery were also appreciated by the military. In fact, the battery has a value, only while it has a charge. Having spent it, it turns into a useless heavy object, instead of which it is better to take another zinc with cartridges. Need energy? A soldier for what? Let it twist, as it should, the handle of the generator to ensure the operation of the walkie-talkie. (That's why that generator was nicknamed the "soldier-motor" among the people.)

In principle, little has changed and with the onset of the era of high technology. Gadgets are gadgets, and without power, their value is zero, especially if they do not charge in the near future. The value of solar cells also disappears in cloudy weather or at night. The dynamo in this respect is more than unpretentious. There would be a man capable of twisting a pen, but there will be a current!

Pioneers in this case, of course, were craftsmen, accustomed to the fact that almost everything in this world, including a dynamo, must be made by one's own hands. Self-taught people did not skimp on sharing their achievements, and as a result, specialized magazines filled with photos and drawings of simple devices that easily recharged batteries of flashlights, mobile phones, smartphones and GPS-navigators. Do not forget the fans of bicycle travel: a long enough trip - and the "on-board" dynamo will provide a full charge of iPhone or iPad.

Finally, seeing the benefits of the practical use of visual aids of school years, professional producers also joined the amateurs. Now the market has enough portable devices that provide the transformation of the muscular energy of the user into electrical current for virtually any electronics. For example, a small LED flashlight, fits in the palm of your hand, has a folding handle. It is enough for a minute to twist it at a speed of two revolutions per second, so that the device would shine for a few minutes.

It is very encouraging that a dynamo machine is also sold in parallel with this equipment, specially designed for teenagers interested in science. By endlessly experimenting at home, you can not only understand how to get clean electricity without batteries and accumulators, but also to invent something new ...
