Dislocation of the shoulder: quick fixing of the problem

A dislocation of the shoulder is a trauma of the most diverse origin, which is very common in modern medicine. First of all, it is necessary to clarify that this pathology characterizes the structural disruption of the articulating surfaces of the articular cavity of the scapula and the head of the humerus as a result of a pathological process or physical violence. However, we should not confuse the dislocation of the shoulder with the subluxation, since in the latter case, despite the congruence dysfunction, the contacting surfaces are observed.

Why do dislocations occur? There are many reasons, but the main ones are still the fall or excessive physical effort on the withdrawn hand. It is important to remember that with dislocation of the shoulder one should not rule out repeated dislocations that already occur without special violence, and sometimes even occur in a dream. This anomaly was called "habitual dislocations."

A very diverse clinical picture has a dislocation of the shoulder, the symptoms are often the same for all stages of such an anomaly. Basically, patients complain of intense pain and disruption of the habitual operation of the shoulder joint, resulting from injury. The victim is unable to hold his hand on the injured side, fixing it in a less painful position. In addition, judging by the X-ray image, the apparent deformation of the shoulder joint is clearly monitored.

If a dislocation of the shoulder was received long ago, the capsule of the joint is substantially compacted, becoming thicker and losing its former elasticity. In the thickness of the joint, there is a dominance of fibrous tissue, which not only covers the articular surfaces, but also fills free spaces. In the periarticular muscles, atrophic and dystrophic structural changes predominate. The older the shoulder dislocation, the more fat degeneration progresses, fibrosis, cartilage degeneration, sclerosis of the synovial membrane and even ossification of the joint, leading to the formation of a vast focal pathology requiring immediate surgical intervention.

If the X-ray has been diagnosed with a shoulder dislocation, the treatment should be timely. First of all, the affected element must be quickly corrected immediately after the diagnosis is clarified. Here, general anesthesia comes in to help , which greatly alleviates the painful procedure for the victim. Its absence is considered a medical negligence, because such manipulations require maximum relaxation of the muscles.

Today, 50 methods of eliminating this violation are known. However, taking into account the local anesthesia according to Meshkov, it is possible to systematize them into three main groups, including leverage and physiological methods, as well as jogging methods, the essence of the latter being to push the head of the humerus into the joint space. An experienced trauma specialist should ideally possess such abilities and skillfully combine all the prescribed methods.

However, it sometimes happens that such treatment is ineffective, since it is not possible to restore the articulation. A similar phenomenon in traumatology is attributed to irreparable dislocations of the shoulder, which occur against the background of the ingress of tissues between contiguous planes. Such an obstacle can be the edges of a broken and bent joint capsule, damaged muscles and tendons, bone elements. In such cases it is necessary to apply a special tire, as well as the inclusion of analgesics, UHF and exercise therapy in the treatment regimen, as well as active exercises in the joints of the hand. In general, the dislocation of the shoulder is reversible and prone to further normalization of the functioning of the damaged area.
