In general, the Death Valley in the United States represents a huge desert in the south-eastern part of the country, just at the border of two states, Nevada and California. And she got her name because of an unusual location.

The fact is that, according to scientists, this territory can be considered the absolute champion of the continent in three categories at once. This is the driest, hottest and lowest place in all of North America. Terrible, right?

The name of this national park as if in advance warns tourists about what they can expect in a difficult journey. A harsh and very hot desert, the daytime temperatures of which sometimes simply become deadly to all life.

Many compare the Valley of Death with the real hell on earth. And the truth, almost immediately gives the impression that this ascetic, lifeless and frightening place came down from the pages of the Old Testament.

However, hundreds of thousands of travelers flock here every year. Lovers of extreme sports attract, as a rule, the opportunity to test themselves and their will in complex as cycling and hiking routes. Romantics aspire to make stunning pictures against the background of a cracked and copiously covered with salt crust of the earth, sand dunes and dizzy canyons, which are in marked contrast with the snow-capped mountains leaving high in the sky.

This national park is considered to be one of the largest, legally protected land plots. The area of more than 5 thousand square miles includes both valleys and mountain areas in the north.

Walking here, it is possible to open with surprise and sand dunes, and a colorful mosaic of almost marble canyons. And in places, as if by accident, clumps of stones grow from the earth, which are nothing but the craters of long-extinct volcanoes.

But not everything is so lifeless. Rare palm oases serve as a home for numerous representatives of fauna and flora, which, it should be noted, are endemic, i.e. Do not occur anywhere else on the globe.

Probably, it's hard to even think that some local people, and even more so people, can live in this place forgotten by God. But it's true! Several ancient tribes moved here many centuries ago and since then have been the keepers of this harsh land. Unfortunately, the number of inhabitants decreases every year, and now only a few families from the Timbish tribe live near the Ennis-Krieg. Just a few years ago, another village, located near the Scottish castle, was considered inhabited, but now Maahunu is completely empty.

Travelers this place has long been gloomy glory. For unexplained circumstances, people have disappeared many times. A little later, cars were intact and in good condition, and there was no trace left of the travelers.

Many tried to write off everything to the military, blaming the fact that they, they say, are experiencing new bacteriological weapons in these parts . For a long time, the military denied everything, considering such stories as rumors and stories of representatives of travel agencies.

The Mexican military conducted exercises in a place that can be traced on the map to within a few meters. However, on the fourth day the connection with the group was suddenly interrupted. It was decided to send a whole squad of paratroopers to help. A few hours later a service jeep was found. The car stood near a huge stone boulder. The engine is on, the radio is working. But not a single person from the task group was able to find.
