Cysts of endocervix are common neoplasms

Endocervix is the mucous membrane lining the cervix . Cysts on this membrane can be located throughout the cervical canal. Endocervix cysts can be determined during an ultrasound examination. In our time, they are observed in the vast majority of previously delivered women 35-40 years. The incidence of this disease also increased in young, nulliparous women. Normally, the muscular walls of the cervix are uniform. In women giving birth, the presence of anechoic (up to 5 mm in diameter), as well as hyperechoic (more than 5 mm) inclusions is considered the norm. Most often, hypoechoic formations become precisely endocervical cysts.

Their occurrence occurs during the healing of cervical erosions. Cysts are formed in the process of blockage of gland ducts, resulting in the accumulation of their secretions in these ducts. These cysts are benign and, as a rule, do not require surgical intervention. Such neoplasms, although they cause serious fear, are usually not dangerous for women's health.

Cysts of endocervix can sometimes occupy most of the surface of the cervix, without having pronounced negative consequences. Also, they practically do not affect the woman's ability to fertilize and the course of pregnancy.

The causes of cysts of this disease are many. Most often, the prerequisite for the emergence of such a neoplasm can become colpitis and cervicitis. Not the last place in the causes of cyst formation is occupied by cauterization of erosion and healing processes.

There are several methods for diagnosing endocervical cysts. One of the simplest and most widely available methods for detecting this disease is ultrasound. A highly informative method of diagnosis is expanded colposcopy. During this procedure, a special microscope is inspected. With his help, the cervix is very carefully studied for neoplasm. With suspicions of a cyst occurring in a conventional ultrasound study, an accurate diagnosis is made precisely with the help of an expanded colposcopy.

In this disease, oncocytological examination of the smear is performed. Another type of research is PAP-smear (according to Papanikolaou). This procedure allows us to determine the initial stage of precancerous changes. This smear is performed with a certain composition of paints and fixatives. The need for such careful research is obvious: they reveal early precancerous conditions.

Inflammation of the cyst of endocervix is the most important reason for conducting thorough research, and taking operational measures.

Cysts of endocervix, treatment:

1. When establishing a benign cyst, treatment is usually not performed.

2. Sometimes the cyst is removed by radio waves.

3. When using the radiosurgical method, the cyst is punctured, resulting in the outflow of secretion.

4. The laser is used in the case when the cysts are seen in the mirrors and are located near the vaginal zone of the cervix.

5. Indications for the cryotherapy method are deeply located cysts. This method consists in applying low temperatures. Such a procedure is performed in an outpatient clinic using liquid nitrogen. It is best to conduct it after the end of menstruation. The main condition for the appointment of cryotherapy is the absence of any inflammatory processes.

6. In case of complication of the cyst through the course of chronic adnexitis, operative treatment is performed with tumoral formations of an inflammatory nature.
