Cow of Ayrshire breed is the best choice for stable milk production

A cow of the Ayrshire breed, one might say, is a poured copy of a Burenka from a Soviet cartoon about Prostokvashino. The creators of this cartoon, perhaps without thinking about it, completely reflected the characteristic features of this breed of cows.

Distinctive characteristics of the breed

First of all, according to many owners of these cows, as well as by observers from the side, heifers and bulls of Airshire have an incredibly beautiful appearance.

In addition to charm and grace, this kind of cows is characterized by high ease of calving, as well as longevity.

But still, the main advantage is that the Ayrshire cow is capable of stably producing a pretty high yield. For example, it is recorded that on the territory of Russia these cows annually supply an average of 6000 to 9000 liters of fresh milk.

The origin of the suit

Interesting is the fact that the Ayrshire breed cow was bred in Scotland, in the isolated county of Ayrshire. Strictly speaking, the name of the city turned out to be the name of the cows. For the first time the suit appeared in 1862.

In the middle of the nineteenth century the Airshires were massively brought to Finland, where at the moment there are the largest number of them in the world - about one hundred sixty thousand heads.

Russia ranks second in the presence of this type of cattle in the country, officially registered about ninety thousand heads.

Let's talk about appearance

In comparison with many other species, the Ayrshire breed cow has rather small dimensions. On average, the heifer weighs about 450 kilograms, and the bull-calf weighs about 800 kilograms.

It is quite simple to understand that this species is just a dairy breed - the body of individuals is fairly proportionate. The body of the cow is not long, we can say that it looks somewhat shorter. But instantly attracts the attention of a wide and powerful back.

In general, the cow of the Ayrshire breed looks very graceful - it has straight limbs with powerful bones, under the right conditions of keeping - well developed musculature.

The Ayrshire cow, whose photo can be seen below, has strong, not very long horns, resembling a lyre in shape.

Special attention is paid to milk

The Aishir cow, which can be heard about from many livestock breeders, has a rather peculiar udder, immediately attracting attention. The fact is that, unlike this breed, not many burenks can boast of an udder of the right form, resembling a bowl in appearance. On the udder are widely located nipples of cylindrical type.

This structure of the udder allows these cows to give simply amazing milk, the fat content of which is approximately 4.2%. As for the protein content in dairy products, it is about 3.5%.

Among other things, the distinctive feature of this milk is the fact that it practically does not contain somatic cells.

Scientists conducted a study, as a result of which it was possible to reveal that to obtain one liter of milk with a fat content of 4.5% of this drill, it is sufficient to eat about 880 grams of feed. These indicators are very beneficial from the point of view of the agricultural business.

The main purpose of this cow is dairy products, they are rarely bred for meat.

Breeding cows

The cow of the Ayrshire breed is famous for its rapid breeding and easy calving. As a rule, it is possible to inseminate the calf already at a rather early age - starting from one and a half years. The first calving occurs at about the age of two years of the cow. Newborn bull-calves weigh roughly 28-30 kilograms, while only the newly born calves are only a few kilograms smaller, on average, the figure fluctuates around 25 kilograms. In the first year of life, with proper care, calves recover about 280 kilograms.

Many cattle breeders appreciate this type of cows and because they are absolutely unpretentious and do not require privileged conditions of detention.

The cow easily adapts to almost any weather conditions, and it is also uncomfortable in food - it is not difficult to find food for it. However, it should be borne in mind that a poor quality of food can affect the quality of milk and its productivity. Therefore, do not feed the cow than horrible.

In this regard, this type of cows has become one of the most popular in agriculture and is widely distributed in most parts of the world where livestock is developed. Especially a large number of cows of this breed can be found in Europe, America, Argentina, Australia.

As for the Russian Federation, this type of cows is found in twenty-three regions of the country, and, apparently, this figure will only increase. Indeed, livestock experts have long concluded that the cow of the Ayrshire breed is one of the most productive, promising and profitable.
