Coursework in the System of Training of Future Specialists

Term papers are one of the most important and necessary types of student learning activities and a means of forming the creative personality of a future specialist.

The purpose of the course work is to contribute to the acquisition and consolidation of the student's research and development skills necessary for the preparation and protection of the final qualifying work - the thesis (project).

The main tasks that are solved in the course of the student's performance of coursework:

A) consolidate, obtain, deepen and expand the theoretical knowledge received by the student in the course of studying the academic discipline;

B) to consolidate the skills of independent work with various sources;

C) acquire and consolidate the skills of research work, the use of various methods of cognition and transformation of the phenomenon, the process;

D) develop the ability to formulate judgments and conclusions, logically consistently and demonstratively express them;

E) develop skills for public protection of the results obtained during the study (study) of any phenomena or processes;

E) prepare for a more responsible task - the choice of the topic, the development and protection of the thesis work.

The previous stages in the development of research skills and skills of students are:

- writing abstracts based on the analysis of literary sources of social topics. In the course of this work, the student develops a critical approach to the evaluation of literary sources, skills of selection and generalization of factual material;

- preparation of reports at student conferences;

- participation in the work of student scientific circles;

- Preparation of scientific student works and their presentation to the faculty and university competitions.

Preparation and writing of course work is one of the types of intellectual and speech activity related to the accumulation and transmission of information. Analyzing the intellectual activity of man, AA. Leontiev noted in it three phases:

1) orientation in the conditions of the task and development of an action plan;

2) the phase of implementation of the planned plan;

3) the comparison of the result with the intended goal

Proceeding from this, the whole process of preparing the course work can be presented in the following form:

  1. 1. Stage of conceptualization and development of the topic:

- choice of topic, definition of scientific problem, object and subject of research, its goals and objectives ;

- preparation of a preliminary plan of course work;

- studying the state of the problem in scientific, scientific and methodological literature and practice;

- selection of appropriate research methods.

  1. 2. The stage of selecting the material and performing the main part of the work:

- identification, study, analysis and generalization of positive social and technological experience;

- preparation and carrying out of the research part of the work;

- generalization and interpretation of the received data;

  1. 3. Stage of analysis and summing-up:

- registration of research results;

- wording of conclusions and practical recommendations;

- protection of course work.

Part of the course work can be reports, presentations, performed by students in the process of studying general professional disciplines. These types of educational and scientific activities are aimed at the formation of logical and compositional skills; The ability to disclose the content of the problem necessary for the presentation (topic name, relevance, determine the purpose, objectives, key concepts, ideas, object and subject of research, make a plan), choose language tools and persuasion methods, adequate situations, goals, addressees; Effectively use professional knowledge; Simulate the performance; Logically and emotionally present information, etc.

In the course of the course work, the students expand the scientific and theoretical horizons of the selected problem, further mastering of the methods and methods of scientific research, the cognition of the phenomenon or process being studied, its essence, content, factors and conditions affecting development, as well as features of manifestation.

In their development, not only theoretical knowledge on the merits of understanding the technology of practical activity is needed, but also the real experience of specialists. Such experience is studied and presented in course work on the basis of personal observations of the practical activities of specialists, and also, if possible, understanding of personal participation in practical social and technological activities. In such coursework, practical recommendations may also arise, arising from the disclosed experience of practical activities to solve a particular problem. Term papers are necessary for the learning process.
