Contusions of soft tissues. Remedies for bruises and bruises

Contusions of soft tissues are common cases of injuries. After all, no one is immune from blows on the sharp corners of furniture, drops, pinch of fingers in the door and other things. At the same time, bruises can develop on the hands, lower limbs, subcutaneous bruises develop. Let's find out how to eliminate the pain syndrome with bruises, what to do to restore normal blood circulation in the damaged area.

Mechanism of injury

Contusions of soft tissues are mechanical damages that occur as a result of a sharp contact of a specific part of the body with a hard, blunt object. There is no significant or visible damage to the skin. Soft tissue injuries can also occur with falls.

Symptoms

A typical symptom with a strong contusion of soft tissues is aching, growing pain with gradual formation of a bruise. Frozen blood can interfere with the operation of blood vessels, accumulate in deep tissues, creating complications.

If there is a bruise of the soft tissues of the head, where the vessels are extremely small, subcutaneous hemorrhage usually stops after a few minutes. In the most serious cases without first aid, bleeding can last up to a day.

The shade of the formed hematoma depends on how long the injury has been received. In the crimson colors are painted fresh damage. Approximately on 3-4 days the place of impact of tissues on hard surfaces acquires yellowish tones.

In what cases is it appropriate to self-medicate?

Interventions by physicians primarily require heavy contusions of soft tissues with heavy hemorrhages, swelling of the tissues, difficulty in motor functions. Even the usual drop on a flat surface can lead to the accumulation of blood in the joint cavities, which leads to the need to appeal to a medical authority. Immediate visit to the traumatologist also deserves a strong contusion of the soft tissues of the head with the formation of deep bruises. Eliminate serious damage allows the execution of a puncture.

At the same time, an appeal to a specialist is considered optional in cases where the presence of a bruise is observed:

  • The formation of a slight swelling, which does not interfere with the free movement of the limb;
  • Not pronounced pain, which occurs only when touching the damaged area;
  • Preservation of normal skin color, without cyanotic and bright red areas;
  • In those cases, if the hematoma gradually decreases in volume within a week.

First aid

What to do if there are bruises of soft tissues? Treatment primarily involves the imposition of a cold compress on the affected area. Exposure to low-temperature tissue not only contributes to the removal of an increasing pain syndrome, but also avoids severe hemorrhages.

How to get a bruise? On the affected area, you can apply a piece of cloth soaked in icy water, a bottle or any available metal object cooled in the freezer, an ice bubble.

A few hours after receiving the injuries, soft tissue injuries require the application of a pressure bandage. The latter should not be excessively tight. Otherwise, it is possible to disturb the natural circulation. Wear such a bandage for the next few days.

Contusions of soft tissues: treatment

After a few days after receiving the injury, the application of cold compresses will no longer have the same effect. Treatment in this period of recovery from trauma consists in warming up the damaged area. This solution allows you to reduce swelling and promotes the gradual resorption of the hematoma.

Quite often, to remove bruises on the hands, patients are prescribed warm baths, dry and alcohol compresses. Excellent proved itself in the recovery after soft tissue injuries UHF-therapy, magnetic therapy, electrophoresis.

If the pain syndrome does not stop for several days, the patients are prescribed medications with analgesic effect, for example, "Baralgin" or "Ketanov". To remove the contusion of the soft tissues of the face, limbs, and other areas of the body allows the use of ointments that restore normal blood circulation.

A good help in the recovery after the injuries received can serve as massage, traditional medicine. About rehabilitation with the help of these and other methods we will talk in more detail later.

Medical preparations

Among the pharmaceuticals that allow you to remove the contusion of the soft tissues of the hip, head, upper limbs, it is worth highlighting the following drugs:

  1. Ointment "Troxevasin" - the composition includes antioxidants, which strengthen the vessels and exert a tonic effect on the tissues. To obtain the greatest effect, it is recommended to apply this remedy to the skin as soon as possible after receiving the bruise.
  2. Gel "Lyoton" - contains components that stabilize the work of capillaries. The use of the drug contributes to the rapid removal of severe swelling.
  3. Ointment "Traumeel" - is designed to restore the muscles after stretching. At the same time, the agent copes well with bruises. To remove the pain, it is enough just to lubricate the damaged areas several times a day.
  4. Ointment "Dolobene" - has an anti-inflammatory effect on the tissues. It effectively removes puffiness. Therefore, it makes no sense to use it in conjunction with other drugs against bruises.
  5. Ointment "Ambulance" - one of the cheapest means for recovery after bruises. It turns out effective only in the presence of simple, superficial injuries. It accelerates the regeneration of the skin, prevents the development of infections and suppuration.

Massage

Regular massage procedures in the course of recovery after injuries allow you to remove the bruise of soft tissues of the legs, upper limbs. The timing, when you can begin to move to massage, are determined by the vastness and depth of tissue damage. With fresh damage, it is only necessary to perform a slight impact on the areas around the damaged area. This allows you to significantly reduce the recovery time, quickly restore limbs mobility, reduce pain, accelerate resorption of the hematoma.

As the main method of massage, light strokes are applied first in the area of the injury. Perform them several times a day for 5-10 minutes. Such actions are recommended to alternate with rubbing the tissues around the impact zone and "squeezing" the tissues in the direction from the site of the injury. As the edemas and pain subsided, these massage techniques are made closer to the injured area.

In the absence of negative manifestations in the form of aggravated pain, fever, other unpleasant consequences, with a 5-6 massage session, they go directly to the effect on the epicenter of the injury. In this case, they resort to rubbing and stroking the tissues, and then - kneading the areas above the place of edema and hematoma. The intensity and strength of the effect on the tissue increases from session to session.

At first, massage is recommended alternating with cold compresses. After 2-3 days, resort to its combination with thermal measures: the application of hot paraffin to damaged areas, warming up tissues with a warm air stream, and water baths.

Traditional methods of treatment

An excellent means of traditional medicine in the treatment of bruises is bitter wormwood. How to remove a bruise with the help of such a tool and remove puffiness? To begin with, fresh grass is pounded in a mortar or grinded in a meat grinder. Then gruel is applied to the affected areas. Do not dry the wormwood juice on the surface of the skin. Therefore, the composition should be periodically renewed or moistened with water.

Among the traditional medicine for the treatment of bruises, the usual garden bow was well established. Its flesh is rubbed into the gruel, then it is applied to the place of damage in the form of a compress. After a while, the volume of edema gradually decreases, normal circulation in the problem area is restored.

As a lotion when getting abrasions, arnica tincture is often used. To prepare the product, about 30-40 drops of herbal balm is diluted in a small amount of water. Compresses with the use of tincture have analgesic and soothing effects on the tissues.

As an anti-inflammatory agent fresh leaves of plantain are valuable. Lay them in a mashed form directly on the affected areas. The leaves of the plant can replace its juice, which is sold in pharmacies.

How to remove bruises with a bruised face?

Bruises on the face, formed as a result of injury, it is advisable to treat methods that are slightly different from the restoration of tissues after injury to the arm or thigh. Due to the presence of a thin, delicate skin, the use of most folk remedies will cause irritation here, and some gels and ointments can lead to a burning sensation in the eyes.

To eliminate hematomas and remove cyanotic areas on the face, first of all it is recommended to treat the site of injury with such drugs as "Levomekol", "Salicylic ointment", "Bepanten". The oedemas are lubricated with nonsteroidal preparations.

Finally

So we examined the main methods of treating contusions. To which of them should be resorted in this or that case, depends on the nature and severity of the damage. Whichever means is used at the stage of recovery after the injury, it is worthwhile to study its properties in advance. Independently choosing the method of treatment, you must consider possible complications. This refers primarily to drugs that are planned to be applied near the mucous membranes and on open wounds.
