Cherry fragrant - a plant unusual

Cherry perfumed, which is also called magalebskaya, or antipoque, is a rather interesting plant, absolutely different from other varieties. Leaflets have something reminiscent of pear - broadly ovoid and pointed. They differ glossy gloss. This is a very large shrub or even a tree. Usually the antipope reaches an altitude of about 7 meters, but sometimes there are specimens that grow to 12 meters.

Corollas on a bush like the Magalabian cherry, quite ordinary - white, about 1.5 cm in diameter. They can be 5 to 14 in the brush. Although the plant is more southern, the blossoming begins rather late - in late May, in June. The berries of this tree are almost black and not too tasty - somewhat bitter and rarely used for food. More often their juice is used for tinting wines and lemonades. In addition, it is perfectly suitable for the production of a fragrant liquid used in the cosmetic industry. Fruit ripening occurs in July or August. They are also not very common - they are more like cherry berries.

Cherry perfumed and another interesting application. Its wood smells unusually good. Hence its name. From the trunks and branches of this plant are made various small objects - mouthpieces, smoking pipes, walking sticks, etc. In addition, this wonderful tree is used and as decorative. Very often the fragrant cherry is planted in parks and squares, along the paths, as a hedgerow. Pleasant smell of flowers and beautiful glossy leaves serve as a wonderful decoration of yards, country plots and city streets.

Cherry grows fragrant mainly in the southern regions - in Ukraine, the Caucasus, Moldova, Crimea, Central Asia. Feels good both on plain zones, and in mountains (it can rise up to 2000 m above sea level). However, the plant is a steppe plant and loves chernozem soils. On acidic it develops badly.

In our country, it is most often used as a rootstock for other varieties of cherries and cherries. The seedlings grown in this way look very strong, they have a developed root system. However, as mentioned above, cherry is fragrant - the plant is still southern. Although it is in the middle zone to develop and can quite successfully, as a stock it is best used in warmer regions. As for Non-Black Earth Region, it is worth using local, regionalized varieties for vaccination.

Cherries are delicious and healthy. The plant is unpretentious, in the care it is very simple. All that is necessary is to prune the seedling into the ground and water it from time to time. For 2-3 years after the landing, it will be possible to harvest already. The only problem that sometimes gives the owner of the site this shrub is the sprouting. The fact that the Magalab cherry absolutely lacks this disadvantage also makes it an excellent material for vaccinations of other varieties.

The reproduction of this plant is not the same as that of other cherries. She grew up completely. In order to grow a new bush, only seeds are used. Cold winters of the middle zone, it may not bear. However, in the south it is considered to be a winter hardy plant, since it never freezes, even if there are severe cooling.
