Causes of pancreatitis and symptoms of the disease

Pancreatitis is a dangerous disease. It is one of the most dangerous human diseases. Sometimes, developing for the first time, this pathology ends with a lethal outcome. Moreover, even modern drugs and methods of surgical treatment are sometimes powerless.

Causes of the disease

To date, it has been established that the causes of pancreatitis can be very diverse, but it is reliably known that the most frequent predisposing factor is alcohol use. Of course, the more a person drinks alcohol and the stronger they are, the higher the risk of inflammation in the pancreas. In this case, it is possible that acute pancreatitis can develop after the first use of alcohol. Such a low tolerance of the pancreas to alcohol is due to the fact that it has no protective means against its harmful effects.

In addition to the toxic effects of alcohol, there are other causes of pancreatitis. Often this dangerous disease develops in the event that there are foci of infection in the gallbladder or bile ducts. This relationship is due to the fact that pancreatic and biliary tracts before going into the duodenum are connected. That is why pathogenic microorganisms are easy enough to move between the gallbladder and the pancreas. In addition, in the gall bladder often stones are formed. They can pass through the bile ducts and clog the pharynx of the papilla, which is the exit of the common bile duct into the duodenum. As a result, the enzymes that form in the pancreas mix with the bile and return back. This can lead to the development of pancreatitis and to necrosis of pancreatic cells. Other causes of pancreatitis also cause a similar clinical picture. For example, according to the same principle, inflammation of the pancreas arises in the event that the pharynx of the papilla is spasmodic and closes the way to the duodenum.

In addition to taking alcohol, there are other "gastronomic" causes of pancreatitis. It is a question of the constant use in food of an excessive quantity of fried and flour products.

Symptoms of pancreatitis

The most pronounced clinical manifestation of pancreatitis is pain. They appear almost immediately after the development of the disease. Pain in pancreatitis is specific. They are girdling, strong, capable of "bending" a person. Pain in pancreatitis can also be given to the shoulder, behind the sternum and the left scapula. In addition to pain, most often the patient has vomiting, nausea, weakness and dizziness.

In the event that timely treatment is not carried out, the disease can lead to chronic inflammation or even death. That is why early detection of acute pancreatitis is a prerequisite for a full recovery of the patient.
