Heel spur, what should I do?

The heel spur was at my sister at the age of 17 years. Her heel hurt, especially in the morning, she cried, and I felt sorry for her. Therefore, even if I do not take into account my education in the medical school, I still know about this phenomenon firsthand. I'll tell you about how to get rid of spurs on the heels. My sister was rescued, and she had already forgotten about this problem.

What kind of a heel spur is this? I think that many have heard about this pathology, and in the modern world not only hear about it, but it has become very common. Especially often, cases are found among women living in cities.

Appears heel spur on the sole and represents a proliferation of calcaneus. Sprouting appears as a spine (spur) and, squeezing the soft tissue, of course, causes pain.

The dimensions of the formation can be from 2.3 mm and reach 10 millimeters or more. Such a thorn is usually pointed toward the toes. Appears heel spur, it is believed, as a result of increased stress on the corresponding area of the heel. Also the reasons may be:

  • Age changes;
  • rheumatism;
  • Vascular disorders;
  • Consequence of trauma and other causes.

Heel spurs can appear at any age. Older people are prone to pathology due to age-related changes. In young people, the disease can be caused by excess loads on the feet. In the case of my sister, these were intense training in athletics. Today she is healthy.

The first signs of the emergence of this pathology are expressed in the occurrence of pain while supporting the heel. Especially since morning, having risen from bed, the person experiences serious difficulties at the first steps. The pain is sometimes so sharp that it is characterized as a spike protruding in the heel.

Pain can spread throughout the calcaneal surface. If the disease has been subjected to both stops, the movement can become so difficult that it becomes necessary to prescribe a bed rest.

Heel spurs - prevention

Knowing that the pathology under consideration is not uncommon, it is probably worth taking care of preventing its appearance. This warning is expressed in the fact that you are doing everything possible to prevent inflammation in the soft tissues of the corresponding area, prevent flat feet, wear the heel bone.

Do not neglect the reference to the orthopedic doctor for the above symptoms. In particular, the treatment of flat feet should be treated in a timely manner.

Traditional treatment

Heel spur is treatable. The above is written about the fact that my sister suffered this disease and is completely healthy today. It was treated mainly by folk methods.

I cite some recipes, but please take into account the fact that our parents are doctors. In particular, the father is a surgeon. I write this not only to the fact that even doctors apply folk methods. You also need to consult a doctor and all responsibility for self-treatment lies with you. I give the recipes below.

Recipe number 1 will allow you to move around normally

  • From the fine birch bark twist the flagellum;
  • Flagellate wrap in gauze, bandage;
  • Fold the horseshoe;
  • Put under the heel as a shock absorber. The heel sags, and the spur does not hurt.

Recipe No.2 Salt Baths

Before bedtime:

  • Make a saturated solution of salt, preferably sea salt for baths, but you can and simple. We used iodized salt. Water should be as hot as you can tolerate;
  • For half an hour, keep your feet in the tub (basin);
  • Wipe your feet dry with a towel, put on warm socks.

Recipe # 3

  • Take a thin slice of lard;
  • Attach it to the site of the pathology with a tight toe.

Recipe # 4

Everything is the same as in the third recipe, but instead of fat, raw potatoes are used.

Recipe number 5 is sometimes enough for several procedures to get a positive result

Made before bedtime

  • Take the black radish;
  • Grate on a fine grater;
  • Gruel of radishes for the night apply to the spur.

I wish you health!
