Cables VVG. Technical characteristics and features of models

Few people think about the features of cable products, Wiring in their homes. But for the safety of all who are inside the building, you need to correctly and carefully choose such parameters as the number of veins and cross-section. And these indicators are not limited. Especially it concerns such products as VVG cables. Technical specifications can surprise any user.

VVG power cable - what is it?

In its structure, any VVG power cable contains copper wires. They are used for transmission of electrical energy. The nominal voltage of this cable can be 1.0 kW and 0.66 kW. VVG cables, technical characteristics of which may be different, are often used in industrial and residential buildings, in various spheres of life.

VVG cables are often used when laying a home electrical grid, when connecting street lighting and home electrical appliances. Manufacturers recommend to lay at a temperature of about minus fifteen degrees. In addition, we must take care of the use of PVC pipes or special cable ducts, if the VVG cable is laid in the ground. This is necessary to protect against mechanical damage.

What is the benefit of this cable?

VVG cables, whose technical characteristics are defined quite simply, are considered the most profitable and safe solution for many systems in modern buildings. Compared with conventional wires, cable protection always has higher characteristics. Practically in each house under construction, the wiring is now laid using the VVG cables. Even small sections of the cable are enough to work with large areas. In the passport data you can see what power the device is better for in this or that case.

VVG cable and its structure

Within any VVG cable there can be four, two or three copper conductors. In addition, zero cores or grounding wires are often used. VVG cables, the technical characteristics of which depend on different parameters, are painted in different colors even at the production stage in order to make it easier to understand where and what to connect.

For example, blue or blue indicates zero conductivity. Grounding is indicated by a yellow-green color. This must be taken into account to build the wiring without any problems.

Some features of the VVG cable

Most VVG cables are used for outdoor installation, for this they are protected by very high quality insulation. The characteristics of the VVG cable also contribute to this application. Such cables are designed for operation in networks where the voltage does not exceed 35 kW. The cores are made of soft copper wire, they themselves have a round shape. If the cross-section of the core exceeds 16 square millimeters, then it has a multi-wire design.

In general, a three-wire design can be used if the cross section exceeds 25 square millimeters.

The core is the main element in such a design as the copper power cable VVG. It is also made of vein, but it is isolated from all others, special materials are used for production. In addition, it is possible to meet cables, where five, four, three or two cores are simultaneously twisted together in the core.

Version with zero core is provided for multicore cables.
