One day an evil giant appeared in these places and began to ruin the gardens and kill the peasants. The best warriors from all the villages gathered and began drawing lots, which of them would fight the newcomer? Struggle with the giant fell to the son of a blacksmith named Goch, whom everyone considered the best hunter. On the eve of the battle, the young man dreamed of his late grandfather, advised to put several large barrels of honey where the giant should appear. Gooch obeyed the advice and did everything as the ancestor had ordered. The giant noticed the barrels and began to greedily eat honey. He was very dirty, and wasps flew at him. Waving away from the aspen swarm, the giant ran, leaving huge footprints on the ground. Exactly 33 steps made the giant, reaching the mountain, on top of which he was waiting for Gooch. A young warrior struck the giant with his sword and, falling, he split the mountain, from which the brook, which subsequently turned into the river Shahe, broke out. Traces of the giant on the earth became cascades, which we now call "33 waterfalls".
