"Bear-to-beard" (sweets): composition, description, price

Few people know that the Mishka Kosolapy sweets (honey grilling) is a visiting card not only of the Soviet confectionery industry, but also the pride of Tsarist Russia itself. After all, this sweet masterpiece was born in the workshops of the legendary steam factory "Einem", which was engaged in the production of tea biscuits and chocolate since 1851. What was the "life" of sweets with literally centuries of history?

"Bear-toed" - sweets with taste of art

The wrapper of these sweets is decorated with a modified plot of the well-known painting "Morning in the Pine Forest", written by Ivan Shishkin in 1889. But it was with the light hand of Maniula Andreeva, a large industrial artist, that this work of art became the "face" of one of the most popular types of sweets in Russia and beyond.

When Julia Hoysu, who was then running the factory, first brought a tasty candy consisting of a thick layer of walnut praline covered with chocolate glaze, he liked it so much that it was necessary to start mass production of this species immediately. And, if you believe the legend, it was the reproduction of the painting "Morning in the Pine Forest" that adorned the wall in Mr. Hoys's office. Hence the name, and later the design of new sweets.

Thus began the way of "Bear-faced Bears" from the factory confectionery shop to the tables of many generations of Russians. But not always this way was so "sweet".

From "Einem" to "Red October"

"Bear-toed" - sweets with a hundred-year history. It all began at the Tsar's Einem factory, which in 1922, five years after the October Revolution, was renamed Red October. Fortunately, despite the upheavals and changes in the state, the production of these sweets was not suspended. They, like many other varieties of iris and chocolate, were produced without interruption until the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, when the range of confectionery products was reduced to 2 titles, and part of the production capacity was transferred to the production of concentrates of porridges and signal drafts.

Only in 1960, these sweets returned to the stores and could once again please everyone with their unique taste.

Not just a grill

With the fact that this is perhaps one of the most famous and favorite varieties of sweets, one does not have to argue, but the question arises: what is so popular about "Bear-faced"? The candy wars: "Mishka" vs. "Mishka"

On September 8, 2014, a second trial was held between the factories Krasny Oktyabr and Pobeda. The reason for the dispute was the brand of sweets "Bears in the Woods", produced by the second. According to the plaintiff (OJSC "Moscow Confectionery Factory" Krasny Oktyabr "), the name is too consonant with their brand" Bear Muffin. "In addition, the wrappers of both varieties look very similar, which also became the reason for going to court.

The first attempt of the "Red October" to sue "Victory" 1.2 million rubles in compensation was unsuccessful, since the judge rejected the claims because in his opinion, the defendant did not use on his goods an image so similar to the wrapper of the plaintiff's products. But the lawyers of the "Red October" did not surrender, later the results of the trial were annulled, and the application was sent for reconsideration to higher authorities.

World fame

Clumsy Bear - under such an English name in the world market produces sweets "Red October". "Bear-footed" is loved not only in Russia, but also far beyond its borders. For many, this brand has become the same symbol as a nested doll or borscht. Many tourists who come to us take home soft marmalades as gifts and souvenirs.

And the factory "Krasny Oktyabr" itself is known outside of Russia for its quality and centuries-old confectionery traditions.
