How to make a bubo on a hat: description, photo, master class

Fluffy pompons are a traditional decoration for many knitted cap models. Therefore, when a knitter is accepted for making such a product, she should ask in advance how to make a bubo on a hat.

Fortunately, this is not difficult. If you have the necessary materials, the master can handle the work with any, even insignificant, experience in knitting.

What will be required

In this article, the most common and simple ways of how to make a bubo from threads to a hat will be described. The principle of pompon formation is the same for all methods, only the method of work and the materials used differ.

Yarn to create a fluffy decoration can take absolutely any. Of course, if you want the color and texture of the material to match the one that was used to knit the cap, then this thread should be taken. However, in order to save or to give a decorative effect, it is possible to make a pompon from a completely different material.

Before you make a bubo on a hat, you need to think about its color and size. Extremely attractive look hats with one big bubo on the crown, but many products (especially children's) provide for the placement of several small elements.

We offer you a master class "How to make bubo". This will require:

  • yarn;
  • Dense cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • Needle for knitting (or just with a wide eyelet).

Sequencing

The most common way to create pompoms is winding yarn on cardboard circles. It is not difficult to do this.

  1. Before making a bubo on a hat, you should draw a circle on the cardboard, the size of which should be 25-30% higher than the planned diameter of the pompon. To get the right circumference, use the compass or circle the object of the appropriate shape.
  2. Inside a large circle draw a smaller one. It is necessary to follow the comparison of the centers of the two circles, otherwise the product will be asymmetric. Take into account, the wider the inner circle, the more magnificent the pompom will appear. However, if the hole is too wide, the shape of the product will become oval.
  3. Cut the circle in two copies.
  4. Comparing the two identical cardboard parts, we begin to wind on them yarn. For convenience, you can make a cut through to the inner circle. The thread should be wound evenly, avoiding the formation of areas with excessive compaction or bald spots.
  5. Continue these actions until the inner circle is completely filled with yarn. When it becomes difficult to reel, you can use the needle to continue filling.
  6. Carefully cut the wound threads. To do this, place the point of the scissors under all layers of yarn between the two cardboard parts and cut along the circumference.
  7. Now the pompon looks like a lot of short lengths of threads with cardboard parts in the center. Circles slightly dilute in different directions and tightly bandage the segments with one strong thread.

That's the whole algorithm that describes how to make a bubo from threads to a hat. Cut the finished jewelry from all sides, giving the desired shape, and fix it on the knitted product.

Process Features

When working with several colors of yarn, note that the last wound layers form the center of the pompon. Therefore, a description of how to make a bubo on a hat with a uniform distribution of several colors will consist in an alternation of layers.

Alternatively, you can apply the same method with which the pompom is made in the photo above: the connection of threads of two colors when winding onto cardboard and achieving the melange effect.

The use of thick yarn will allow to make the decoration faster, and it will look more fluffy.

Smaller pom-poms

As already mentioned above, small and medium-sized buboes perform in much the same way as large ones. In contrast to the method with the winding of yarn on cardboard parts, it is possible to use coils formed with the help of fingers.

As you can see in the photo, the thread is wound on an even number of fingers (two or four). Then intercept in the middle of a strong string and remove the resulting loops.

At the next stage they need to be cut and cut from all sides. Before making a pompom (bubo) on the cap by this method, it should be noted that it is relatively expensive. The resulting lengths of filaments come out very different in length, and they have to be significantly shortened. However, an undoubted advantage is the volume of the ready-made pompon.

Alternative ways to create buboes

Using a fork for winding yarns will help to make pom-poms of very small size. This method is fast and easy, since the turns obtained will be almost the same size.

To produce a large number of identical elements, you can use a method that perfectly illustrates the following image.

The yarn chosen for pom-poms is wound on the legs of an inverted stool, tied in several places and successively cut. The volume of ready decorations depends on the number of wound layers.

The use of pompoms is not limited to sewing on hats. They are widely used for decorating mittens, scarves, sweaters, making soft toys or interior items. Very original look mats of buboes.
