Baked shank in the oven: recipe with new ingredients

The recipe for the famous Czech dish from pork shank is known all over the world. Many gourmets specially come to this beautiful country to taste it along with a side dish of stewed cabbage and a glass of good beer. However, for many culinary people, the shank, baked in the oven, the photo of which is presented below, resembles a baked knee. It has already become so familiar that there is a desire to try a completely new recipe for cooking a traditional Czech dish. At the same time, I want to change not the technology of processing products, but use some other components and spices.

Ingredients

This recipe, baked pork knuckle in Czech style is blown, requires the following components:

  • Pork knuckle - 1 piece;
  • Honey - 3 tbsp. L .;
  • Soy sauce - 100 ml;
  • Ground ginger ;
  • Prunes - 100 g;
  • Onion - 1 piece;

Do not neglect this process, because thanks to it, meat is processed, which kills all unfavorable bacteria and gives the dish the necessary softness. Therefore, the meat is immersed in a pan, poured with water and put on fire. After the water boils, reduce the heat and remove the foam from the surface. Then add the peeled onion, bell pepper, bay leaf and spices as desired. In this form, everything is cooked for two hours.

Marinade

To make the baked shank in the oven got a rich taste, the marinade must be prepared immediately after the meat boils. This will give him time to brew and take the necessary consistency. To do this, take honey, soy sauce and ginger. They are mixed in a small container. The resulting mixture should resemble liquid sour cream in its consistency. Then the mixture is insisted for two hours.

Baking

In order for the baked shank in the oven to receive its unique taste, it must be crammed. This is done using pieces of prunes, which are placed in small incisions on the skin. Then the ball is well lubricated with marinade and allowed to stand for about an hour. After that, the meat is wrapped in foil and put in a preheated oven for 200 minutes for 30 minutes. In this case it is worth noting that the remains of the marinade are also recommended to be poured into the foil. So the baked shank in the oven will be more juicy and will get a good color of crust.

Innings

To serve this dish is best in hot form with a lot of garnish and beer. It is best to use boiled potatoes, which is perfectly combined with this type of meat and perfectly compensates for its fat content. Beer is better to take a dark Czech, because the recipe of the dish can still be changed, but it is desirable to leave this drink in this form.
