Autism: symptoms in children and adults

Diseases associated with the psyche can be very serious. As a rule, they appear unexpectedly, and a cure (partial or complete) is not always possible. Such diseases can make a person an outcast of society, deprive him of the opportunity to have a family, children, build a career.

Autism is a strong violation of mental development. It is characterized by speech disorder, as well as motor skills. This includes stereotypic behavior - it is the main reason that the patient can not normally join the society.

Autism, the symptoms of which we are considering, have a detrimental effect on the early development of children. Of course, it is reflected in all future life. Until now, there are no medical tests that could at least somehow diagnose it. The symptoms of autism are most often manifested in childhood. Methods of treatment and care for patients with autism are many. Many of them are quite effective, but the result can not be said in all cases.
It should be noted that autism, the symptoms of which are specific, can manifest itself in mild or severe. The extent to which depends on how the patient can interact with others, perceive reality, communicate and so on. An easy degree of autism can be detected not immediately, but, for example, only when the child has already gone to school.

People with autism say, as a rule, very slowly. Often they try to use gestures instead of words, the meaning of the words themselves is confused or forgotten. What is happening around them is of little interest. People are also not interested in people. Instead of playing with other children, they prefer to be alone. In most cases people are not remembered. Animals are not perceived or feared for completely incomprehensible reasons.

All this is often associated with a sleep disorder, digestive problems, allergies of various kinds.

Autism: symptoms in children

At the slightest suspicion on the given disease it is necessary to address at once to the doctor. Autism, the symptoms of which will be listed below, can develop both quickly and slowly. Everything is very unpredictable. Reasons for concern:

  • The child can not say what he wants;
  • Does not respond to requests;
  • Does not remember how to use objects;
  • Does not respond to the name;
  • There are hearing impairments;
  • It is difficult to establish visual contact with it;
  • There is no childish babbling;
  • There is no smile;
  • Long time does not speak and so on.

Causes

Nobody can say the exact cause of the disease until now. It is known that it is more common in boys (about four times). It is also established that heredity plays an important role. A patient in the family means that the probability of a child with autism is ten percent. It is proved that the vaccination of children is completely irrelevant.

Autism in adults: symptoms

Many adult symptoms are similar to those described above (child). A patient with autism, being already an adult, also experiences certain difficulties in interacting with others. It is difficult for him to become a part of any collective.

Autism in adults can be expressed in different ways. Here are more generalized symptoms:

  • It is difficult to establish eye contact;
  • Intolerance of physical contacts (for example, shunning handshakes);
  • Does not react to his name;
  • Monotonous speech;
  • Repetition of one word a large number of times (sometimes sentences or phrases);
  • Immunity to pain and external irritants.

Of course, patients with severe autism should always be under someone's tutelage. They can not survive on their own. Adults with mild forms of autism are able to work, make any independent decisions, communicate, have families. Sometimes their symptoms are not so easy to recognize as it seems.
