Pink highlighting - the reasons for their appearance

One year before the first menstrual period, the girls have vaginal discharge. And further throughout the life of a woman closely watches their character: color, smell, consistency - these signs can tell a lot about the state of women's health. Each woman needs to see the gynecologist twice a year, regardless of whether or not she has any alarming symptoms, since there are diseases that can be asymptomatic.

The properties and volume of excretions depend on the phase of the menstrual cycle, on sexual life and hormonal background. In the middle of the cycle, during ovulation and before monthly discharge becomes more. It is necessary to know which secretions are considered the norm, and which ones are a deviation from it, and they speak about the presence of pathology. Pathological discharge is one of the main symptoms of gynecological diseases, although, of course, it is not enough to establish a diagnosis.

Excretions, considered the norm, should be mucous, ungrowing, without an unpleasant odor, should not cause itching or irritation. In a healthy woman, the number of white blood cells in the smear will not be increased, and in the smear test on the microflora the number of rods will prevail. For normal secretions, an increase in the number of secretions during ovulation, in the second phase of the menstrual cycle, is characteristic.

In this article, we will not disassemble all types of pathological excretions, but will pay attention to the problem that women often face with gynecologists - pink discharge. Paying attention to the bloody veins in the secretions, women are frightened, not knowing what that means. Regardless of the reasons that influenced their appearance, a specialist's consultation in this case is mandatory. But let's first understand, in what situations is to be feared, and in which there is not.

  • Pink discharge in the middle of the cycle can talk about the hormonal decline before ovulation. If they are of a regular nature, their number is insignificant, then this means rejection of the endometrium during the period of ovulation. In this case, there is no problem, the presence of such secretions simply indicates that ovulation has taken place.
  • Another reason why you may have pink discharge is taking medications that affect the hormone level.
  • Bloody discharge is also observed in women who have an intrauterine device. Then it's just one of the side effects of this type of contraception.
  • Another reason for such secretions is sometimes the weak activity of the thyroid gland.

If to exclude the previous reasons it is necessary to assume only presence of inflammatory processes, infectious diseases, benign or malignant tumors.

  • The appearance of pinkish discharge due to the impaired menstrual cycle can become a consequence of inflammation of the genital organs.
  • Erosion of the cervix, endocervicitis and endometritis are also often characterized by a similar symptom.
  • Polyps, fibromiomas and cysts that form in the genitals can be accompanied by both weak pink and scarlet, more abundant secretions.
  • Bloody discharge is characteristic for malignant neoplasms.
  • Pink discharge also accompanies some infectious diseases.

If you find a similar symptomatology, especially if it is supported by a pain in the abdomen, itching in the perineum, and the discharge has an unpleasant smell, you have an occasion for an urgent trip to the doctor. Any disease is easier to treat at earlier times.

Separately, it is necessary to specify what pink discharge during pregnancy can mean. Their appearance, along with abdominal pain, dizziness, palpitations, weak pulse, pallor, increased sweating, low blood pressure, is extremely dangerous for the health of a woman and her fetus. But discharges similar to diluted blood, immediately after birth, are lochia, which are considered normal postpartum discharges.
