Asr (namaz): description, time of committing and interesting facts

In the Muslim tradition, great importance is attached to daily prayer, which must be performed at a certain time with strict adherence to the rules. This is said a lot in the writings that were left by the believing prophets of antiquity. In the end, a fairly clear rule was drawn up, which is recommended for all true Muslims. And in this article we will talk about one day prayer - asr prayer.

What is prayer of asr?

In translation from Arabic, asr is an afternoon obligatory prayer. Also called the time, which is accounted for by it. Asr Namaz is the third such prayer in the account, which is committed without fail during the day. And there are only five of them. All of them belong to the second pillar of Islam.

There is a definite rule for performing this prayer, which is recorded in the one hundred and third third of the Qur'an. Also, mention of it can be found in the ninth verse of surah "Al-Manafikun." The importance of this particular time in the Qur'an is stated in the eponymous Sura Al-Asr.

Time of Salat

It is more specific to talk about time. To perform asr prayer should be in the hours strictly reserved for him. The time of its beginning is somewhat different for different currents of Islam, but not crucially.

In general, the majority hold the opinion that the third prayer can begin to be performed already when the shadows on the street become twice as long as the object itself. Other schools believe that you can start a little earlier - when the shadows are equal to the object.

The time when the afternoon namaz can not begin to perform, begins immediately after sunset, since the time of another prayer - Maghrib (sunset) comes. Many believers make asparagus before the sun begins to turn red, going beyond the horizon, thus keeping the covenants of the Messenger of Allah.

That is why everyone agrees that the best time for performing the prayer is immediately at the beginning of the time interval reserved for prayer. This indicates that the believer really broke away from his worldly works and turned to Allah. At the very end of the allotted time, it is permitted to read the prayer only if there was a good reason not to implement it earlier.

Racas, of which the prayer consists

Now consider in more detail namaz asr, how many rak'ahs are performed during its execution. Rakat is a complete cycle of all the prayers readings and the movements that are being made. It can be repeated one or more times (depending on the type of prayer).

It includes pronouncing takbir, then reading Al-Fatiha, waist-bowing and straightening, bowing and straightening (the pose remains kneeling), again bowing to the ground and returning to the starting position. Of course, this is only a general guide, because depending on what kind of a racket is the account, the process may differ, and it also has differences (though insignificant), depending on the prayer itself.

In the afternoon prayer, asr, there are four rak'ahs. They are read in a whisper, but so that in silence you can hear it. Those. You can not just move your lips, you need to pronounce all the words with such a sound, as if you are whispering to someone in your ear. The same number of rak'ahs in Namah salah and yusha, but in the prayer of the Maghrib three rak'ahs, in the Fajr - only two. They are read in different ways.

How is Namaz performed: actions

Let's consider in more detail how to properly read the prayers of asr, and what actions are being performed. As it was said above, the words in the afternoon prayer should be pronounced in a low whisper, pronouncing all the words not only with the heart, but with a voice.

Actions in principle are very similar to the traditional execution of rak'ahs. In the beginning it is necessary to make a niyat (intention), clearly fixing out loud what you are going to do. Next, you need to raise your hands in the direction of Kibla and raise them to the level of the ears. Pronounce Takbir.

Then join hands and lower them to the navel, read Do'a San, sura "Al-Fatiha" and yet any of your choice. Lower your hands and make a bow. Then, uttering certain words, one must bow down, touch the place of the Saja low.

In the end, say "Allahu Akbar", go back to a sitting position, after two or three seconds, repeat bow again. The first rakat is over. Start the second, standing up. Perform all the rak'ahs by reading the appropriate words and performing the necessary actions. After the fourth rak'ah, prayer can be considered finished.

Differences in actions for men and women

Asr Namaz for women is somewhat different only in the performance of actions. For example, during the circulation of hands in the direction of Qibla, women should raise their hands to the level of the chest, not higher. While men raise them to their ears, touching their toes with their thumbs.

Also, women do not lower their hands to the navel while reading du'a San, but keep them at the chest level. During the waist bow, they can not fully straighten their legs and back, fingers should be gathered together.

During the earthly prostration, men and women sit in the same way (the feet are parallel to each other, and the fingers are directed towards Kibla), but the elbows are pressed against the women to the sides. During the rising from the earthly prostration, women sit on the left thigh, picking their legs and toes with their fingers toward the Qiblah.

It should also be noted that women do not perform namaz in the event that they have menstruation at that moment. By all rules, it is necessary to proceed to it only when there has been a purification.

What the sacred texts say about the importance of this prayer

Namaz al-ars in all sacred texts is considered the most important in committing. This is based on the premise that for the time of its implementation, many Muslims should break away from the worldly affairs that are performed to perform the prayer. It is in this and its plus - the confrontation of worldly pleasures, which are around so much, and appealing to Allah.

So a Muslim can resist sin, the influence of the Shaytaan and follow the commandments of Allah, observing his spiritual duties. No one has such a relationship as to the afternoon, so it is recommended that you plan your day so that it harmoniously fits into it.

Other Prayers

It should be noted and other daily prayers in Islam. There are only five of them, and they are obligatory for implementation.

  1. Farge. This is the morning prayer, which takes place before sunrise. If a Muslim managed to fulfill at least one prayer prayer, then he had time to do it. If not, she goes into debt prayers.
  2. Zuhr. This is the second prayer, which is called the noon. It takes place after the passage of the sun through the zenith, but before the shadows of objects become larger than themselves. Therefore, the prayer can begin to be performed after the sun has overcome the highest point of the sky.
  3. Asr. Afternoon namaz, of which this article was executed.
  4. The Maghrib. This namaz after asra is performed immediately, as the daylight will go beyond the horizon. And you have to finish it before the evening dawn disappears. This prayer has the shortest possible time, so you need to be very careful not to miss it. The preference for implementation is given to the first minutes, as permission is given.
  5. Isha. This prayer can be performed immediately after the evening glow has disappeared. The time interval, when it can be done, is the largest, since the end of the period of prayer is the first signs of the morning dawn. However, it is still recommended to perform it until the first half or even the third of the night has expired.

Conclusion

Thus, based on all of the above, asr prayer is one of the five most important daily prayers, when a Muslim can directly turn to Allah, remember that he is only a mortal man. And also about impossibility to take away worldly goods on the other side of the earthly life, no matter how much it would be desirable. Therefore, we should begin to take care of our other life right now, discarding at least for a time all worldly habits, cares, pleasures, etc.
