The name of these sweets is associated with childhood. And also with the famous children's camp. Both of these, of course, evoke pleasant memories when it comes to Artek waffles.

How the Artek wafers appeared

Wafers are called confectionery products, which consist of three or more wafer sheets with a filling between them. The history of their origin is still a mystery. Some people believe that this delicacy was invented in Ancient Greece. Then they were made of cheese and grass and baked on a warmed stone. According to another version, waffles appeared in Germany in the 13th century on the banks of the Rhine.

Who invented the delicacy of "Artek"? Wafers with this name first appeared in the USSR in 1958. This happened thanks to the technologists of the Moscow confectionary factory, who developed several new recipes for the crispy dainty favorite by everyone. Among them were the waffles "Artek", which received their name from the name of the world famous pioneer camp, located in the Republic of Crimea. In the 60s of the last century, the Moscow confectionery produced up to 25 different types of this product. But the most popular (as then, and now) are the waffles "Artek".

Their composition includes sugar, wheat flour, vegetable fat for special purposes, cocoa powder and milk powder, sunflower oil, egg powder, food and salt soda, Vanillin flavor identical to natural, citric acid E330 and lecithin E322 emulsifier.

Waffles "Artek": calorie and nutritional value

Waffles are a very high-calorie product. In 100 grams of this delicacy contains 30 grams of fat, 60 grams of carbohydrates and only 4 g of protein.

For those who care about their shape, it is important to know how many calories in Artek wafers. Dietitians estimated that the calorie content of this product is 530 kcal per 100 grams.

In the confectionery factory, the preparation of wafers begins with kneading the dough. To do this, first a flour is sifted into a special container, then add water and a dry mixture of baking powder with soda. All mix thoroughly. The dough should not get thicker than usual sour cream.

After that, a white powder, lecithin, is poured into the mixed mass, and vegetable oil is then poured in. They will make the dough uniform in composition. No more ingredients are added. Contrary to popular belief, there is no sugar in the waffle cakes , and the filling makes them sweet.

After kneading the dough through the pipes gets into the next shop where the biscuits are baked. The equipment necessary for this, in accordance with the principle of action, resembles an ordinary waffle iron. Through special nozzles, the dough is poured onto hot plates, covered with the second half of the waffle iron and baked for 2 minutes at a temperature of 170 degrees.

Now the finished cakes are cooled and along the conveyor belt get into the shop where a liquid filling is applied to them through special nozzles. After that, the wafer sheets are connected to each other. Then they are cooled in a special refrigerator so that the filling is frozen. And only after that, large sheets are cut with special strings into small wafers. Then they are packed and sent to the warehouse, and then to the store.
