Composition on the painting "Wet Meadow" by F. Vasilyev

"Wet meadow" - a famous painting by the Russian artist Fedor Vasilyev. On it, as well as on many other works of the painter, nature is depicted.

If you were asked to write an essay on the painting "Wet Meadow", be attentive to the atmosphere of the picture and details, describing it.

The first look at the picture is mixed, contradictory feelings. Before the spectator opens the plain, lit by timid morning rays of the sun. Only it rained, it can be seen from the rapidly retreating gloomy clouds. Nature rejoices at the new day and solar heat no less than the recent downpour.

Color scheme of the picture

Painting "Wet meadow" Vasiliev written in cold and warm colors at the same time. This contrast creates blue and ultramarine shades of clouds on the right, warm yellow and beige clouds to the left. The artist did not accidentally use this method: he wanted to show a sharp change in the weather, which is rarely observed in nature. The disappearance of the clouds and the appearance of the sun is indeed a wonderful moment, which surprises and admires simultaneously.

The lower part of the picture - the meadow and the trees on the plain - are made in warm colors.

Composition

The composition of the painting "Wet Meadow" sets the task to understand the composition and meaning of the picture. Despite the fact that the work is called "Wet Meadow", most of it is occupied by the sky. Vasiliev portrayed this in order to enhance the effect of the sky overhanging the viewer, the impression of the retreating thunderstorm. The picture "Wet meadow" is dynamic, which is natural for the image of nature. In it, the movement is directed from left to right: the direction of the puddle, the huge light cloud, the hill and a group of plants in the foreground tell us about it. Thanks to the "golden section principle", the look wanders around the picture, embracing all the details. However, each viewer will pay attention to a single tree in the right edge of the canvas. This object is located in the semantic center of the picture so as to attract attention.

Composition on the painting "Wet Meadow": foreground

Meadow in comparison with the sky seems quite flat. Small grass, the crowns of trees and water in a puddle literally imbibed the environment. The greens got drunk after a heavy downpour and just raged, rejoicing in the sun. Thin roots are lifted from the ground, and tiny flowers glow.

Illuminated puddle goes into the distance and is lost in the thick of the grass. The water in her overflows with different colors: from greenish and ocher to purple, like the sky itself. The smooth surface of the water seems perfect, but you can see a barely noticeable ripple. This detail allows you to distinguish water from the sky. At the very edge of the puddle, in the foreground, we see small bubbles - all that remains of a small toad jump into the pond a few seconds ago.

Light flowers and tiny leaves are written out by the artist so carefully and painstakingly that they create a feeling of warmth. Bluish, purple, yellow small flowers then protrude, then hide again among the plants. Clearly visible light and shadow: in the foreground there are not enough halftones. Contrast gives the picture brightness and expressiveness.

The composition of the painting "Wet Meadow" allows you to fantasize. For example, on the right side of the earth a dark shadow spreads and we do not see that it discards it. We can assume that this is a huge tree, which is left behind the field of view of the artist. Or, perhaps, it is one of the heavy rain clouds that flies away.

Background

Near the tree there are several low bushes, but they are not written out in detail and are put on the back burner. Steppe expanses beyond the tree are written much paler than the main object of the picture. In the distance you can see the horizon, which is lost in the morning mist. He makes you think: what is there, ahead? This will remain a mystery ...

Description of the picture "Wet Meadow" - the best task for a romantic dreamer. There is nothing better than to imagine what the artist felt, drawing every detail, and what sense he wanted to convey to the audience.
