Archangel (Marvel Comics) - powerful "support from the air"

The fact that a born to crawl or walk can not fly, Warren Kenneth Worthington III doubted while studying at school, when he had to hide his rapidly growing wings under his clothes. Well, he was completely convinced that it was not so when he became Archangel - the character of the universe Marvel, winged superhero and one of the wards of Professor Xavier, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

First flight

Despite the fact that Warren grew up in a rich family, his childhood can not be called cloudless, because already from a young age his wings began to grow. The problem was that the guy had to go to school, and with his mutation the future Archangel (Marvel Comics) was slightly different from the rest of the children.

At first the wings could be hidden under the clothes without problems, but every day their sizes only increased, and soon they gave him the opportunity to fly, which turned out to be very useful. Once in the student hostel there was a fire, which forced Warren to spread his wings to save the occupants of the building.

A little later, the wings stopped being placed under the clothes, and parents found out about them. They could not accept the fact that their son is a mutant, because in a similar family of all sorts of mutations were considered a disgrace. Therefore, they took his son to his country estate, where he was brought up as a servant, while his parents carefully concealed from the press the peculiarity of his son.

School of mutants

Fortunately for Warren, he noticed Professor Charles Xavier. He offered the boy training in school along with other mutants, which was delighted not only by the Archangel (Marvel Comics), but also by his parents.

They liked the fact that Warren would be supervised by a specialist, because it allowed them to step back from raising their own son. Since then, the guy became a member of the detachment "X-Men." And it was there that he received the name Archangel (although in fact there were more names).

Powers and abilities

It's easy to guess that the main advantage of a winged superhero is its wings, whose swing is about 5 meters. Thanks to them and a certain form of their body, the Archangel (Angel, the Revengeing Angel) can fly.

In addition, he has a well developed musculature, he has excellent eyesight, and his breathing system allows him to breathe even during a flight at high speed. In addition, blood flows in his veins, which has healing properties.

Not the Archangel, but Death

Warren Worthington III can not be called a negative character, although his bright name can be found and dark spots. Once in one of the battles, the Archangel (Marvel Comics) was badly injured and, being in the hospital, was deprived of his wings. This strongly knocked the hero, but the Apocalypse asked him to return them, which he immediately agreed, not suspecting that this is a trick.

As a result, he was subjected to serious genetic changes - the skin became blue, and the wings are metallic and sharp as a razor. He began to fly faster and higher. He became a horseman of the Apocalypse called Death. Then his character changed, he became a ruthless and bloodthirsty assassin. Later, when he managed to get rid of the influence of the villain, he participated in its destruction.

Appearance in TV shows

Archangel (Marvel Comics) is featured in the animated series "X-Men." It tells about his origin, as well as about how he was going to meet with a certain scientist who could correct the situation with his mutation. But in fact, these scientists are the Apocalypse, who deceived the superhero into Death.

More Warren can be seen in several series of the animated series "The X-Men: Evolution", where he tries to recruit Magneto. And also in the serial "Wolverine and the X-Men", where he was first an Angel, and then became an Archangel.

Appearance in films

In the film "X-Men: The Last Battle," Warren's father, upon learning of the terrible mutation of his son, was going to heal him. He manages to create a vaccine, but at the last minute the guy refuses to enter it and runs to the school of mutants Charles Xavier. There he studies along with other adolescents similar to him, and later participates in the battle against Magneto and the army of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

The next appearance of the Archangel happened in the film "X-Men: Apocalypse", where his role was played by British actor Ben Hardy. There the hero under the threat of death participates in clandestine battles of mutants. During one of the fights, the Angel (Marvel Comics) damages his wings, but soon escapes and gets to the Apocalypse, who decided to use it for his own purposes.
