Education and education of Bazarov in the novel "Fathers and Sons". Characteristics of the main character

Eugene Bazarov - the main character of Turgenev's novel "Fathers and Sons." He rightly can be considered an extraordinary, outstanding personality with a tragic fate. The image of Bazarov in the novel is presented very brightly by the author, as if we see in front of him this powerful, bold, straightforward man with big red hands. Unfortunately, the life of the hero was too short for his full self-realization. In order to assess the scale of the personality of this character, let's try to remember what his education, upbringing, how all this could affect his character.

Parents of Bazarov

Eugene Bazarov is the son of a district doctor and noblewoman. His parents Vasily Ivanovich and Arina Vlasyevna love their son, and even Eugene, although he behaves with restraint, even severely, feels the most tender feelings toward them. They were the ones who brought up Bazarov. In the novel "Fathers and Sons" about parents is said very little, but this is enough to understand how much Eugene is dear to them, which is just the scene of their meeting.

Father Bazarov tries very hard to look modern in the eyes of his son, he is afraid to seem boring to him during their meeting, which occurred after three years of separation. The case of Vasily Ivanovich, apparently, helped to determine the young man in life, he also became a doctor. No matter how the son relates to his father, he was the one who carried out the education of Bazarov. In the novel "Fathers and Sons" Eugene is an advocate of doing business that must necessarily be useful. No matter how his son showed disdain for this native person, Vasily Ivanovich in his eyes was the one who really benefits.

Mother Bazarova, Arina Vasilievna - a noblewoman by birth. She is fussy, uneducated, old-fashioned, strongly believes in God. Arina Vlasyevna, undoubtedly, also contributed to the education of Bazarov. The novel "Fathers and Sons" says that such a woman should have been born about two hundred years ago. She certainly took great care of her son, he saw her infinite love from childhood. It was thanks to Arina Vasilyevna that Bazarov could become such a strong and confident person.

Relationship between parents and Bazarov

The above is enough to understand how parents feel about Eugene. He is their only son. The chapter in which Yevgeny comes to his father's house is simply filled with parental love. They are so excited, so excited, so trying to please! Arina Vasilevna wants to ask if he has come for a long time, but he is afraid to anger his beloved son. Evgeny is the meaning of life for these elderly people.

How does Eugene relate to them? In the depths of his soul, he is certainly a loving son, although at first glance it seems that he does not appreciate their tender care, even as if neglecting. These heartfelt people know Eugene from infancy, because they carried out the education of Bazarov. In the novel "Fathers and Sons" there is a phrase that Eugene says about his parents: "Such people as they are in our daylight can not be found with fire." This he said Odintsova before his death. This received Bazarov upbringing.

Quotes that can brighter show the true attitude of the hero to his parents, can not be found. Paternal and maternal care was not in vain. Apparent neglect, irritation - is primarily a kind of envy and anger at yourself. Bazarov does not have a man who could fill all his thoughts, and there is no deed that could completely absorb his extraordinary mind. Eugene's life is not filled with meaning, as the life of his parents, who are outwardly busy with various small concerns. They do not need to look for great things, because they have the meaning of life, this is their beloved son.

Education Bazarov

Education and upbringing Bazarov from a very early age becomes his own concern. He aspires to development. Eugene, as you know, was not the son of wealthy parents, so he earns money for education himself. The profession of a doctor, of course, carries Bazarov. He loves to work, does not tolerate idleness. The meaning of human life, in his opinion, is to be of use.

Views on the social order

Bazarov's "ungenerous" origin (he is a raznochinets) shows that the importance of the nobility in public life is receding into the background. Aristocrats, according to the protagonist, are not capable of action. The author of the work admits that in his novel he wanted to emphasize the failure of the nobility.

Bazarov deeply shares the ideas of nihilism. He denies the social foundations, values, achievements of culture. He does not appreciate the beauty of nature.

To be or to seem?

How often we try to appear different from what we really are. It seems to us that this way we will be better, more attractive.

Bazarov in the depths of his soul is a kind and sensitive person. Perhaps, with age, he would have become like his caring father, Vasily Ivanovich.

Fascinated by the ideas of nihilism, Bazarov puts on himself a cynic mask. He rejects everything that does not bring practical benefit. However, life in an amazing way makes a person see in himself those qualities that he tries to hide from himself and others. Denying love, Eugene nevertheless finds in himself a strong feeling for Anna Odintsova. Trying to avoid parents, Bazarov comes to the understanding that they are the best people on Earth.

The novel ends with the death of the main character. The principles by which he lived proved to be untenable, and new ideals did not appear.

According to the author's comments, Bazarov's continued existence was impossible, because he denied the universal values that allow us to live.
