Mongolia In the 1920s


The entry of the MPRP in 1921 into the Comintern as a sympathizing party marked the beginning of its close cooperation with the international communist movement on the basis of the principles of proletarian internationalism. Thanks to this, the MPRP, conceived as a party of labor aratstvo, was able in a comparatively short time to become a Marxist-Leninist vanguard of the working masses in the struggle to build a new life.

The Agreement on the Establishment of Friendly Relations between the Mongolian People's Government and the Government of the RSFSR, which was signed on November 5, 1921, had historic significance for the destinies of people's Mongolia. This was the first agreement in the history of Mongolia in which its independence and sovereignty were recognized as one of the great powers - Soviet Russia .

The significance of this international act becomes even clearer if one considers that the capitalist world responded to the proposal of the People's Government of Mongolia to establish diplomatic relations with other countries by conspiracy of silence. The Soviet-Mongolian agreement, which personified the class alliance of the victorious proletariat of Soviet Russia with the Arat masses of Mongolia, marked the beginning of close political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries and became a vivid example of the emergence of a new, socialist type of international relations. During the stay of the Mongolian delegation in Moscow, it was adopted by VI Lenin. Lenin gave a clear answer to the question of under what conditions, by what methods and means, countries that have not passed through the capitalist stage of development can enter the path leading to socialism.

In November 1924, the First People's Khural approved the first constitution in the country's centuries-old history. The Constitution proclaimed Mongolia a people's republic, in which the highest state power belongs to the working people in the person of the Great People's Khural and the government it elects. The Constitution, abolishing private ownership of the basic means of production, made the working people the true master of their country.


During the Chinese Revolution of 1925-1927. The Mongolian workers expressed their ardent sympathy for the struggle of the Chinese people against imperialism and feudalism. In those years, a movement was launched across the country under the slogan: "Long live the Chinese revolution! Hands off China! "The government of the MPR facilitated the transportation of weapons sent from the Soviet Union of the People's Revolutionary Army of China.
