Finishing plasterboard

Hardly anyone would disagree with the fact that drywall is one of the most demanded building materials. Repair and interior decoration of premises with its help is a phenomenon ubiquitous. This environmentally friendly, fire-resistant, energy-saving material is widely used in creating a modern interior, embodying the most intricate fantasies of people.

Gypsum cardboard is a composite material made of gypsum core with technical foam, it is lined with cardboard on the outside. Gypsum passes air well, maintaining a constant moisture regime in the room. The material is completely non-combustible, non-radioactive, non-toxic, has low thermal conductivity and high sound insulation, is easy to use, it can create a fantasy curved surface or "drape" the tortuous surface. Decorative partitions, window slopes, arches, multi-level ceilings, mansards and sewing utilities are made of it.

Finishing plasterboard slopes can be performed in two ways. In one case, the adhesive is glued directly onto the walls. In the second (if the irregularities are too large or the opening needs to be reduced), the sheets are attached to the metal frame by screws. Then - treatment with antifungal primer, puttying, cleaning, painting. On plasterboard can stick a thin plastic. By the way, for the finishing of slopes should use a moisture-resistant version. Finishing plasterboard is good because slopes are repairable - if scratched, a piece is broken off, you can always patch and paint over.

Alignment and plasterboard wall finishing is performed in exactly the same way as slopes.

Along with the metal frame, you can use wooden bars. There are several points that deserve attention. To make the inner corner, the sheet is set in place, the ruler is marked and the cardboard is cut on the side facing the wall. Then the sheet is neat, so it does not break, bends around the corner and is fixed.

To trim the outer corners from the inside of the sheet, a triangular groove is cut out and along it the sheet bends over the facing corner. Protect corners from damage by paint corners. Stitches in the joints of the sheets are sealed with plaster mastic, and to keep it better, wooden slats are smeared with liquid mastic. Then a net or gauze is pasted onto the seam, and it is shpatlyuetsya to the level of the sheet for further finishing. The ideally smooth surface of plasterboard sheets is suitable for any finish: painting, wallpapering, tiling, decorative plaster.

From gypsum cardboard it is fairly easy to assemble a quick-erectable frame partition or decorative with niches, arches or several levels.

Finishing plasterboard ceilings, especially multi-level, is certainly more difficult than wall finishing. But how much this diversity of your interior, make it individual and unique! In such a ceiling, it is easy to install spotlights that add expressiveness and give additional lighting where planned. If very high ceilings - it is easy to lower them to a comfortable level.

Decorating with gypsum cardboard doorways in the form of arches, semi-arches with niches and decorative protrusions will make your home irresistible.

Under plasterboard it is convenient to place or hide plumbing, electrician, low-voltage communications and everything that hinders you.

Not so terrible, as it seems at first glance, the internal plasterboard with its own hands. Carefully read the advice of specialists and people who have done similar work, rethink, accurately imagine what you want, pick up a tool and partner (with large sheets it is easier to work together), gently measure the size - and go ahead. Necessary tools: screwdriver, perforator, electric jigsaw, hammer, screwdriver, level not less than two meters, padded thread, hacksaw, knife and square. Its work is much cheaper, it can be of high quality, it will bring moral satisfaction and joy of creativity.
