Anovulatory cycle: what is it and is it worth it to heal?

The anovulatory cycle is a process in which there is no phase in the release of the oocyte from the follicle, or ovulation, in the menstrual cycle . It is worth noting that quite often the anovulatory cycle is quite a natural process during puberty, as well as during lactation and with menopause. It is rare that such a phenomenon is diagnosed among quite healthy women who are capable of giving birth to a child. In this case, the anovulatory cycle causes infertility. In most cases, such a violation is treatable.

Anovulatory cycle: causes.

As already mentioned, the anovulatory cycle can develop during pronounced hormonal imbalances, such as during puberty, an act or with menopause.

In addition, quite often the cause of this phenomenon is the disruption of the activity of the endocrine glands, in particular, in disorders of the connections between the ovaries and the hypothalamic-pituitary system. In some cases, the anovulatory cycle develops with pronounced infantilism of the female genital organs or as a result of severe inflammation of the reproductive system.

Anovulatory cycle: signs and course of the disease.

In most cases, such an uncharacteristic cycle does not have any external symptoms, since menstruation occurs on time.

There are two forms of development of such a violation. In the first case, the follicle ripens to the final stage, but, unlike the norm, there is no rupture of the follicle and no release of the oocyte - reverse development begins. In this case, there is no uterine bleeding, pain or other symptoms.

In the second case, after the full maturation of the follicle, it degenerates into a cyst, which subsequently begins to grow actively and increase in size.

In addition, this cycle does not occur and the characteristic changes in the uterus. The mucous membrane begins to grow actively and increase in size, while the vascular system does not manage to develop fully. Along with this, with such active development, the secretory cycle is completely absent. With further development, the vessels burst and begin to necrotic processes. Gradually, the female body begins to reject the necrotic endometrium. It is during this period that there is severe uterine bleeding. In some cases, extensive bleeding leads to the development of anemia. In addition, women with similar disorders are possible and anatomical abnormalities in the structure of the uterus.

Anovulatory cycle: diagnosis and treatment methods.

As a rule, gynecologists are treated by women with periodic uterine bleeding, or those who can not conceive, despite active and regular sex life without protection from pregnancy.

The most important in the process of diagnosing the anovulatory cycle is a laboratory analysis of scrapings of uterine tissues. With this analysis, there is a lack of secretory elements in the endometrium. This procedure is usually carried out about a day or two before the expected onset of menstruation.

In addition, a woman needs to pass an urine test, as well as blood, to check the content of hormones, since in the anovulatory cycle, the estrogen level deviates from the norm.

As for the methods of treatment, it uses therapy with hormones. Such drugs have the right to appoint only a doctor, since the choice of medication depends on the cause of the development of abnormalities. The course of treatment lasts in most cases approximately two or three weeks. The first few days the drug is administered intramuscularly.

The prognosis for women in whom the anovulatory cycle is diagnosed is very favorable, since after the treatment the ability to procreate is restored.
