In the Chinese capital there are 2 airports - Nanyuan and Shoudu, each of which has its own characteristics. The first one, Nanyuan, is the country's oldest airport, while the Shoudu is China's largest airfield. These are all airports in Beijing today.

Nanyuan is the very first airport in the country

This airport was opened in 1910 and is the oldest in China. Despite its age, it is quite a modern building, the only terminal of which is equipped with numerous cafes and shops. For the most part, this is a military airport, although it also performs civil transport. After the construction of the modern Shoudu, Nanyuan lost its popularity. That's why, mentioning Beijing airports, many do not take it into account. In view of this, his transport communication to the capital is also poorly developed. There is only one bus that runs from Beijing to Nanyuan Airport every hour. This is quite inconvenient, given the fact that if you are late for it, you will have to wait for the next one for at least an hour.

Most of the residents of the country use this airport, hence the rather modest number of flights.

Shoudou - China's largest airport

The airport of Shoudu (Beijing) is the largest in the capital itself, and in the whole of China. In addition, he holds the second largest passenger traffic in the world. It is located only 20 km from the city limits, which makes it quite convenient for transport interchanges.

The airport building is very modern and provides all amenities for passengers - numerous cafes, restaurants with all the kitchens of the world, duty-free shops, convenient waiting rooms, luggage storage and free wi-fi. In addition, there are comfortable lounges. There are also hotels in the area of Shoudu airport. This is very convenient, given that it daily serves hundreds of flights, both international and domestic. Given that this is the largest airport in Beijing, the terminals that are located there are quite busy. At the moment there are three of them at the airport. In the future, the construction of the fourth terminal is planned, which will significantly increase the already large amount of work of the airfield. The second terminal serves both long-distance and international flights. Among the airlines that operate here, is the Russian Aeroflot. This terminal is located on all three floors of the building. Terminal number 3 is the largest and also serves both domestic and international flights. It is divided into three additional terminals - 3E, 3D and 3C. It is in the latter you can get your luggage, regardless of where it was sent from, and also to register.
