Why do you want sweet

There is no such person who would not ask himself why he wants sweet, especially during hard work or exhausting session. There are several reasons for this, and it is impossible to differentiate between psychological and physiological reasons, they are directly interconnected.

So, why do you want sweet? First consider the psychological reasons for this Phenomenon. The roots of this lie in childhood.

Everyone knows that in order to calm a crying child, he needs to give a candy or something sweet. Such a mechanism we transfer into adulthood and we begin to calm ourselves with buns, bars and pechenyushkas.

Also, the suddenly awakened passion for sweets indicates emotional hunger, lack of love, care, attention and warm human feelings. Quite often it happens that a girl, experiencing a personal drama, at once empties a box of chocolates or deletes three chocolates. Subconsciously in this way a person compensates for the lack of positive emotions, without thinking why one wants a sweet.

There is an opinion that for the sake of losing weight you should exclude from the diet sweet. This opinion, though partly true, because. From the diet is removed the main source of carbohydrates, has a serious drawback. The forbidden fruit is sweet, and on this soil a slimming person constantly wants a sweet.

In addition, social and cultural norms define our attitude to sweets. In Russian, the word "sweet" is used as a synonym for blessed, happy, unearthly words. A variety of sweets, which are accepted to bring on a visit to guests, give as gifts became an indispensable way to establish good relations.

From a physiological point of view, however, the question of why one wants a sweet is somewhat more complicated. And all because our body sometimes starts to blackmail us. As well as in what situations, we will understand below.

Strictly speaking, the need for sweetness is manifested when the blood sugar level falls below the norm. As you know, the main product of any sweet dish is sugar. Which refers to carbohydrates. The task of carbohydrates is to supply the body with energy. All carbohydrates are conditionally divided into 2 groups: simple and complex. Complex carbohydrates are found in long chains of glucose, in foods such as pasta, rice, oats, fruits and vegetables. Simple carbohydrates can be contained both in kind in milk and fruits, and in artificially produced sugar. All carbohydrates eventually turn into glucose, but the difference between simple and complex in the rate of transformation.

However, this does not answer the question of why you want sweet. The fact is that glucose is the food for the brain. Therefore, during an increased mental load, for example, during a session and work at work, the need for glucose increases. Therefore, the body goes to some kind of blackmail. The brain is just too lazy to wait for complex chains of carbohydrates to split and it will get the coveted glucose. It is much easier to eat a chocolate and make up for a lack of glucose in a matter of minutes.

What to do if you want a sweet tooth? First of all, to determine whether you really need it, or whether it is simply a matter of psychological factors. The most important advice in this case will be to remember that in all things one must observe a sense of proportion. One candy has not hurt anyone, especially during hard work.
