Who are the optimists or how to overcome pessimism?

If you briefly answer the question: "Who are the optimists?", Then it will be approximately like this - these are those who even see crosses in the crosses. The very word "optimism" comes from the Latin "optimus" - the best and assumes a positive, trusting attitude to the world around us.

An optimistic attitude is attributed as a way of living to followers of the Christian religion, where despondency, which can be associated with pessimism, is considered a mortal sin. And, perhaps, this is not accidental, because Recently there were theories linking life achievements and even the state of health with the mood prevailing in a person. For example, people who have become acquainted with the psychosomatic prerequisites of disease or the teachings of Louise Hay, begin to better understand who are the optimists. So they call those who do not condemn, do not envy, perceive any point of view, do not impose themselves and rejoice at every minute of life. This position allows in some cases to get rid of diseases caused primarily by the state of the nervous system.

On the other hand, modern studies have shown that the belief that failures are better transferred, if prepared for the worst, does not justify itself. Scientific research conducted at the University of Seattle showed that a pessimistic attitude does not reduce negative emotions after a number of bad events. Who are such optimists from this point of view? Today there is evidence that a positive goal setting sets the whole body to achieve the desired result. There is a well-known case when during a war in a concentration camp one of the prisoners, who was a psychologist, helped others to imagine himself on the beach under a strong sun instead of a barrack, which increased the resistance of their organisms to cold - and some did not freeze.

But here the most important thing is not to burn out, because An extremely pronounced pessimist and an optimist are extremes. You can try to artificially develop a "positive", which will be violence against your nature, because A positive approach to life implies that this or that event brings sincere joy. It is best to be an optimistic realist that will not allow you to look at the world through "rose-colored glasses".

Who are the optimists? Perhaps those pessimists who, for some reason or another, have learned the skill of optimism (according to Sellingman). This requires a little. First, to attribute successes to yourself, to your efforts, to your desire, and not to the established circumstances and the will of other people. Secondly, to believe that everything can turn out anywhere and at any time, not only by the will of luck in a particular place and that it will never happen again. Thirdly, to observe a certain order of life, including the following recommendations:

- set certain goals and achieve them;

- look at the problem from different points of view;

- listen to music, walk in nature, relax for 20 minutes a day;

- marvel and surprise;

- periodically completely change the image;

- Feel the world through all the senses;

- start the day with a look at a pleasant thing and with a good thought or prayer;

- Do sports and creativity, even if it does not bring any money. Most of the masterpieces of world culture just reflects the mood of artists;

- Read jokes and remember pleasant moments from life.

If you do not know who you are - an optimist, a pessimist, a realist - you can pass tests that are full of Internet. They will help to reveal the main features of the character and help determine the direction of work on themselves.
