Which fish is suitable as a bait

Often on fishing there is such a situation that peaceful fish (roach, bream, carp, etc.), despite the abundance of bait and the variety of bait offered to her by the fisherman, does not bite. And at the same time, you can notice some excitement on the water: striped perch chasing fish-eating young people, or the excrement of a spotty pike raises the water surface , or even struck the surface of the water, stunning flocks of fry and anticipating a plentiful meal.

It's time for the angler to take spinning in his hands, tie him to the spoon and switch to catching predatory representatives of the underwater kingdom, offering them various artificial baits. But only this very spinning is not always at hand, sometimes it just does not have the angler in stock, and when the houses forget this tackle. How to act in this situation? The output is very simple - you need to catch a small fish, in large numbers living in almost every pond, and use it as a live bait. But not all species of fish are equally effective in this role, fishermen should focus on catching such ichthyofauna inhabitants:

  • Bleak. This small schooling fry is omnipresent and gluttonous, it will not be difficult to catch it, you just need to equip the fishing rod with a thin fishing line, a small hook and set a shallow depth on the tackle. The broom is ideal for catching bass.

  • Gudgeon. Minnow is usually considered a delicacy served on a "table" for predatory fish. They catch this valuable in fishing relation fish on those parts of the bottom covered with sand (hence the name of this fish), at a shallow depth.

  • Carp. This fish can hardly be considered a classic zhivtsy, but for catching large pike, zander, catfish, it is indispensable. So fishing can be carried not only gastronomic, but also quite practical fishing interest. Catch small carp at small depths, near the algae.

  • Redshirt. This, although freshwater, but fairly colorful fish catch at a depth of about one meter, in a place of smooth bottom deepening. Bright coloring of its fins can provoke even a sluggish predator on the grip.

  • Roach. The most universal fish in terms of its use as a live bait, because its size can be suitable for catching a small predator, and for hunting trophy specimens. It bites at moderate depths, and also at the bottom.

  • Gusters. It can easily be confused with a bream, it differs from it with a lighter shade of eyes and a large number of rays in the dorsal fin. Catch this fish mostly at the bottom. Usually, they do not hunt for it, but if you already have it in the cage, you can safely use it as a bait for a predator.

Well, what kind of bait catch will be of little effect? Do not catch on the ruff, because it has spiny fins, and predatory fish do not really like to be pierced. It's no use waiting for the bite on the line, because its surface is covered with a lot of mucus. It is also not advisable to use small finches and pikes as live animals, that is, offspring of the same fish that are supposed to be caught. On such a bait predator bite only in the absence of fry of other fish.
