The main causes of the 1905 revolution

In the early twentieth century, in St. Petersburg, which was at that time the capital of the Russian Empire, they shot a peaceful demonstration of workers. This "Bloody Sunday" played a decisive role in the life of society and was the impetus for the development of the revolutionary events of 1905-07.

The reasons for the 1905 revolution are manifold. At this time, the "crisis of the upper strata" manifested itself most vividly, which manifested itself in the struggle of political Directions, in inability to prevent terrorist acts. This caused peasant, worker and student performances. Contradictions led to the first bourgeois revolution and determined its character in accordance with the following goals: the establishment of a bourgeois system on the territory of the country, the overthrow of the autocracy, and the final destruction of feudalism.

The reasons for the revolution of 1905 are also connected with the fact that autocratic rule, class inequality, lack of rights, preservation of semi-serf remnants did not correspond to the realities of the twentieth century. The past conflicts and problems were added by the modernization. For example, the working question was particularly acute, which was exacerbated by the absence of labor legislation, high working hours and low wages. These social conflicts, as the causes of the 1905 revolution, were intertwined with inter-confessional and interethnic. This led to an even greater division in society. Yes, and the Russo-Japanese war exacerbated the dissatisfaction with the existing situation, and also persuaded the society that autocratic power could no longer effectively and worthily manage the country.

There is nothing surprising in the fact that social movements in Russia at that time were determined by the opposition Moods. Government forces were very diverse and full participants in the life of society were not.

The causes of the revolution of 1905 were connected with the activities of the St. Petersburg clergyman G. Gapon, leader of the "Assembly of Russian factory workers." They proposed to organize a procession consisting of dissatisfied workers, and present the petition to the tsar about the needs of people. This idea was supported by the working people. The Social Democrats, in order not to be isolated, made their demands in this document: the establishment of a working day within eight hours, the transfer of the land of the landlords to the peasants, the introduction of freedoms and the organization of the convocation of the Constituent Assembly.

This demonstration was shot, resulting in more than 1,200 people were killed and 5,000 were injured.

The reasons for the revolution of 1905-1907 described the whole outburst of outrage in public circles, and by mid-evening mass riots broke out across Russia. Active participation in them was accepted by the workers (the revolutionary camp) and the petty-bourgeois layers of villages and cities. The landlords, the big bourgeoisie, the officers, officials and clergy topped them. For almost 2,5 years the revolution of 1905 continued. The reasons that played the decisive role, as we could see, are very diverse, they affected the social, social and economic structure of the country.
