Evpatoria is a small town on the north-west coast of the Crimea. Its area is 65.4 km ² , and the length is only 22 km. Nevertheless, it is one of the largest resorts in this part of the peninsula.

Evpatoria is located 65 kilometers from Simferopol, you can reach it by train, train, bus or car. Buses are easy to find - they stand across the street from the station, depart every 20 minutes and go to the Evpatoria bus station, which is also near the railway station. After 21.00 it's best to book a taxi, since minibuses no longer go. The city is located in the steppe part of the Crimean peninsula on the shore of the Kalamitsky Gulf, in this area there are no mountains and hills. Height above sea level - about 10 meters. Acquaintance with Evpatoria

The first acquaintance with the city begins with Evpatoria station. This is a unique building, built in 1953 by architect A.N. Dushkin. Earlier, when the Moscow-Evpatoria train left from here, music always played. In 2003, in honor of the 2500th anniversary, which was celebrated by Mr. Evpatoria, near the station was installed the sculptural composition "The Birth of Kerkinitida" (Kerkinitida is the Greek name of the city). The author portrayed her as a small, trumpeted girl in a sea shell lying on the backs of dolphins. From the station begins the street Frunze, along which famous single-track trams go. It leads to the same park, from which you can get to the beach.

Walking around the city

If you pass by the post office building, you can get to the embankment of Tereshkova. Here begins the route "Lesser Jerusalem" and there are a lot of architectural monuments: the Khan's mosque Khan-Jami, the largest cathedral in the Crimea - Nikolaevsky, the Greek Cathedral of St. Elijah, two synagogues and not only. A little further, next to the bread factory, you can see the restored part of the fortress gates of the medieval town of Gozlova, and on the opposite side of the street - Tekie dervishes.

Lake Moynaki

Walking along the narrow streets of the Old Town, you can take one of the famous Evpatoria trams and get to the healing lake Moinaki. Recently, because of human intervention, the ecosystem of this previously famous mud lake has been disturbed. The place where Evpatoria is located was always famous for the healing properties of its brine and mud. But, since the nineties, they began to gradually disappear, as a result of which Evpatoria could lose the glory of the balneological resort. Gryazelechebnitsa, the treatment in which it was once impossible to get, for a long time was in desolation. In 2015, it was decided to restore the dilapidated building of the health complex and the adjacent territory.
