Portugal. Cape Roca - the western edge of Eurasia

The westernmost point not only of Europe, but of the entire Eurasian continent is Portugal, Cape Roca. It is near the city of Lisbon, and once it was even called Cape Lisbon. This amazing area has been repeatedly described by poets of different countries who managed to visit here. Even with their lines, one can understand that, like all of Portugal, Cape Rock has a special magic. This is the place where the land ends and the endless waters of the Atlantic begin.

This Portuguese plain is a major tourist center. Of course, the local lands have beaches where you can lie down and relax, as well as in the warmer months of the year to swim in the ocean. However, it is worth remembering that the westernmost point of the continent is simultaneously one of the most windy zones on Earth. At the foot of small rocks the gusts are not as strong as on their peaks, where many photographers and adventurers are climbing, in order to make a successful shot. However, in winter days, this is strictly not recommended, since the wind can easily rip a man and carry him to the bottom of the abyss.

Of course, Portugal also boasts architectural sights. Cape Roca is famous for its high and very beautiful lighthouse, which is located near the shore. He finds special magic and beauty at night, when there is no big illumination and the main source of light is he. At such moments it seems that it is from this bright and flickering light that all Portugal depends. Cape Rock is also marked by a beautiful stela, above which rises a cross. This is a kind of sign saying that this area is the westernmost point of the mainland.

Stop at the hotel to any tourist will be at a very humane price. The influx of travelers here is observed only at the end of summer, and in the remaining months many rooms are empty, so they are rented at reasonable prices. It is worth noting that this cheapness can not boast of all of Portugal. Cape Rock is also equipped with a beach, to which leads a long and twisted trail. It is worth noting that it is not safe to go this way in rainy or too windy weather.

Humane prices are also set for food. In the region there are not so many restaurants and bars, but those that are - are quite cozy and welcoming, and having visited such institutions, you are surely rising in disrepair. Souvenir shops, antique shops and local galleries are also famous for Cape Roca. Portugal is a country that is known primarily for its natural beauties. Therefore, going here, it is worth pre-tune in silence, peace and tranquility, rather than shopping and active entertainment.

As mentioned earlier, the place where the Earth ends and the water surface begins is Cape Roca, Portugal. Photos of this amazing countryside are attached to the article, and right now you can plunge into this world for a short while. But to taste the Portuguese air, ocean breeze and feel the strongest local wind can only be on the westernmost lands of our continent - at Cape Roca.
