What is the difference between hemorrhagic vasculitis?

Hemorrhagic vasculitis implies a disease under which the capillaries of the skin, the digestive tract, the joints and even the kidneys are affected. According to experts, this ailment can be diagnosed regardless of the age of the patient, but in children under three years of age it is extremely rare. Hemorrhagic vasculitis is predominantly observed in adolescents, as well as in adults. In this article, we will talk more about this disease.

Symptoms

First of all, patients find small rashes on the body, which, in turn, are the sinus elements with a predominantly symmetrical arrangement, which do not disappear when pressed. Most often these rashes are localized on the extensor surfaces of the extremities, in the buttocks and joints. Then, with the extinction of the rash, the remaining pigmentation is observed, which, in turn, with quite frequent relapses can cause skin peeling. The second most important symptom is joint damage. Thus, patients complain of short-term discomfort and minor pain in these areas. According to experts, hemorrhagic vasculitis is located mainly near large joints, in particular the ankles and knees. Another symptom of this disease is abdominal pain, but it does not cause special suffering and is not accompanied by various kinds of digestive disorders. Literally in a few days the pain can subside on its own without the use of ancillary drugs.

Hemorrhagic vasculitis: diagnosis

This disease, according to doctors, is characterized by nonspecific changes in some groups of laboratory indicators. So, in some cases there is an increase in the level of ESR and leukocytes, as well as disproteinemia. In addition, the level of immunoglobulin G and complement activity decreases. Hemorrhagic vasculitis in adults is often accompanied by hypercoagulability.

Therapy

First of all, it should be noted that a specific method of treatment is chosen based on the phase of development of the disease, the patient's condition and some other factors. However, most often with such a diagnosis, as hemorrhagic vasculitis (cutaneous form), treatment implies the use of so-called "antiaggregants". With heavy Forms, some specialists prescribe two drugs with a similar effect simultaneously. Note that the dosage of antiplatelet agents is selected individually. When choosing each dose, doctors tend to focus on the positive dynamics of already existing symptoms and on the alignment of certain groups of laboratory parameters. So, in the absence of the proper effect of the prescribed therapy, the dose is slightly increased.

Effects

According to experts, with timely treatment in children in 50% of cases there is a complete recovery.
