What is interesting about the royal mastiff? The fact that he is strong, self-sufficient and nobly beautiful

Lovers of dogs are different. Some just need friends close by, even if they do not have famous, high-breed ancestors, but they have a harmful character or not very comfortable habits. Such people often take in the house of ordinary, but very nice mongrels. Others are looking for a replacement for their children's toys - and they are creating "pocket" dogs that are capable of supporting the owner psychologically (which, in fact, he needs). Still others seek even through animals to assert themselves - and buy themselves fighting dogs, and from the best producers.

However, there are among the abundance of the canine tribe such representatives of it, which do not fit into any of the listed categories. They are self-sufficient, they are full of consciousness of their importance and can not be toys or tools for reducing complexes. And among these dogs the very first - the royal mastiff.

Origin and Purpose

Actually, as everyone knows, the "Great Dane" in English is a dog. That is, if you think logically, there are no other dogs except the danes. Quite a royal approach. But among the breeds that bear this proud name, there is an aristocratic hierarchy. And the royal dog among them is the coolest and most important.

According to the main version, this breed originates from the Molossian dogs, which were taken out even in the times of Ancient Rome. According to some sources, then they were used for tracking down and harassing runaway slaves. In the gloomy Middle Ages, the ancestors of the current dogs hunted for wild boars, they bullied bulls, and they acted as bodyguards.

Times have changed. Together with them, the character of these dogs changed, and their modern name. Now the royal mastiff is better known as German.

Notable ancestors

Molosses are not the only ones who were noted at the formation of the breed. In the very beginning there were Asian dog fighters. And if you are scrupulous, you can find information that in those days the general branch was divided into two side. One was a schooling school, produced on a large beast in the persecution, large in size and did not differ much from other hunting dogs. Another branch, which united much more massive individuals, was used primarily in protection. From this line and went the breed of the royal mastiff. To develop the necessary qualities, the original branch was crossed with the greyhounds - the fastest dogs in the world, so that the bodyguard acquired the characteristic greyhound characteristics.

The success of living together is in upbringing

In the modern world, the dog the royal mastiff (also German) has acquired all the qualities necessary for the present survival, but has not lost those by virtue of which it won its historical positions. The main thing in this breed is the ability to get along with almost any normal person. But! If you want to be not a service person, but at least an equal participant in a relationship, you can prove it to the dog.

Let's start with the fact that the royal mastiff is a proud animal, so that it should be beaten and scolded only when it is really to blame. Otherwise, the dog may find you unjust (read - abnormal) master and in the future will be ignored as incompetent. More will play a reproachful tone and trust, even when the pup is naughty. At the same time, remember: if you give slack, and the dog does not recognize you - there will not be a comfortable existence, there will be a constant quiet war for primacy.

Educational Rules

Like any other breed of dog, the royal mastiff has its own peculiarities in upbringing. It is common practice not to beat an animal with a hand - if you want, of course, that it loves you, and not be afraid, without understanding your actions. Hands should remain a symbol of peace, caress and consolation. You will punish your palm - you risk facing the fact that a sick dog will bite you when you want to calm it down.

Under the same national ban, punishment remains in place of the animal. If it has already hidden on its litter, it means that everything has become realized. A "house" should be even a dog.

We must slap - well, your dog offended, it happens - do it hard, but once. Beating is the lot of the executioners. Your anger or sorrow will be much stronger.

And most importantly: education begins with the appearance of a puppy in your home. Let him still nesbvyshysh - check the "slack" will be regular. Want to have an intelligent person in the house instead of a home bandit - bring up!

Character should be taken into account

A great help in education is the character of the German (royal) Great Dane. First of all, he is patient. Even if the dog does not understand something (for example, why it is impossible to gnaw master slippers), she will wait and try to understand why it is forbidden. The same quality is very useful if the family has children. Their royal mastiff will endure for a very long time - and without tragic consequences. However, this dog is stubborn and rather self-willed. So if your views on some of the everyday features of coexistence do not coincide - you will have to look for a compromise. Agree, "the king" has the right to his opinion.

And how healthy are these animals?

Although the royal mastiff lives not so long (however, like the other large dogs), it is distinguished by quite strong health. If the puppy does not have dysplasia of the hip joints (these are usually discarded, but suddenly you have an unfair breeder), then the dog will not bring you any illnesses. It happens that these dogs puchit, but then you just need to monitor the diet. Glaucoma, which sometimes happens, is usually also associated with malnutrition. With age, mastiffs can get various diseases of the musculoskeletal system; Slightly more often than other breeds, stall; But in general - quite problem-free animals. And most importantly - the royal mastiff (photo attached) - very calm, located to the children and not a shrill dog. For lack of "emptyness" of these handsome lovers of dogs are especially respected.
