Your Russian European husky. Than it is better to feed?

A few words about the breed

Among the hunting breeds, these dogs are considered the most universal. You can go with them to the beast and the bird. They have a wonderful instinct, courageous, strong and enduring. For the hunter, the Russian European Laika will be an indispensable assistant. The modern type of this breed was formed due to long-term breeding and breeding work of dog handlers. It was based on Zyryansky, or Komi husky. Yaroslavl is rightly considered the breeding center for these dogs, although the breed is common in many other regions of Russia.

What to feed the husky

From its ancestors, the Russian European Laika inherited a rare unpretentiousness and endurance. This was facilitated by rigorous selection in harsh natural conditions. Like all predatory animals, the stomach in these dogs is most adapted to concentrated and monotonous food. Therefore, the ideal feed for them is raw meat. It should be given to the likes of 5-25 grams per kilogram of weight per day. Meat should not be bold. It's better if it's beef. When giving meat, you must be sure that it passed sanitary control and does not contain helminth eggs.

Together with meat, you can give the dogs sea fish. Be sure to include raw bones in the diet, as they contain calcium, which is necessary for building the bone system. The adult dog is fed 2 times a day. Portions should be small, calculated on the weight of the animal. In food, it is recommended to add meat-and-bone flour, various by-products. Feeding can be considered sufficient if your Russian European husky is well-nourished, alert and mobile. During intensive work, the dog is recommended to feed 3 times a day.

In the event that it is not possible to feed the dog only with meat and fish food, it is also given oatmeal, porridge from buckwheat and corn flour, breadcrumbs, bread. To meet the needs for vitamins, you can include chopped raw vegetables into food, adding them to the main food. It is desirable to cook porridge on a meat broth. For replenishment of protein deficiency it is recommended to periodically add cottage cheese and raw eggs to food.

Deciding what to feed the husky, we must remember that the liver of dogs is more sensitive to the effects of various harmful substances. Therefore, do not give your pet smoked meat, sausages, sweets and other delicacies. They will not benefit the dog. In the food of dogs must be added salt. For better growth and development, vitamin preparations and fish oil are prescribed. Dry food Russian European husky should be received only as a reward or a treat. They adversely affect the work of her liver and kidneys. The dog feels better on natural forages.

Pregnant and nursing bitches are fed more abundantly and often, increasing the number of feedings to 4 per day, give raw meat and cow's milk. After chewing for 3 days is given easily digestible food: yogurt, broth, milk porridge.

Feeding puppies of the Russian-European Laika

Up to a month the puppies of the Russian European husky feed on the mother's milk. If she does not have enough milk, they are fed. Feeding is introduced gradually, usually starting at the age of 3-4 weeks. As it can be used cow's milk, raw eggs, minced meat. Milk of dogs contains more protein than cow's, so the lack of it is filled with eggs and minced meat. Later in the lure they inject milk porridge from mango or oat. In 2 months the puppies can eat the same food as the adult dogs. Only rough impurities to the forage, for example, sifted oatmeal, should be excluded. The number of feedings to a year should be 4 or 5. After 4 months, milk is advised to replace with fermented milk products.

Proper feeding will help the dog to be cheerful and ready to work. Take it with attention, and the result will not disappoint you!
