What is dysbiosis in gynecology?

Strangely enough, but in modern gynecology there is also such a pathology as dysbacteriosis, but in this case it touches a completely different organ, in other words, today gynecologists often diagnose the dysbacteriosis of the vagina. What it is?

At the birth of the girl, the microflora of her vagina is absolutely sterile, but in a few days it is filled with useful bacteria that live in it throughout the rest of her life. Basically, these are staphylococci, anaerobaths and streptococci, that is, those microorganisms that can not exist without oxygen. In total there are about 40 of them, and all of them peacefully "coexist" in their habitat, without causing pathogenic processes in the body. Initially, the level of acidity of the vagina is close to neutral, but during puberty its walls thicken significantly, which also causes tangible changes in its microflora.

All these microorganisms are in a balanced balance, and their numbers are constantly maintained at an acceptable level, while protecting the female reproductive organs from the harmful effects of foreign microbes. With a clear violation of such a balance, dysbacteriosis arises, in gynecology such a phenomenon is well known and has a number of its characteristic causes of the most diverse nature.

So, what can contribute to the progression of dysbiosis in gynecology? The reasons are huge, it can even be elementary stress or hypothermia, but there are more serious precursors of the disease, for example, hormonal failure or other more significant anomaly. Here you can identify a certain pattern. So, the dysbacteriosis, developed by the fungi of Candida, got all the well-known name "thrush"; Dysbacteriosis, which was caused by gardnerella, is called bacterial vaginosis; Well, and if the disease was preceded by sexual infections, it could be ureaplasmosis, chlamydia or trichomoniasis. In principle, this disease can occur against the background of an existing pathology of intestinal dysbiosis, or under the influence of other harmful microorganisms.

A highly predicted phenomenon of dysbiosis in gynecology, the symptoms of which allow us to reveal the existence of pathology already at an early stage of infection, so to speak. Immediately it should be noted that the severity of symptoms in each clinical case is different: someone more pronounced, and someone is practically not noticeable. Characteristic signs of the disease are discomfort of the genitals, in particular, itching and burning of the vagina, abundant discharge often with a sharp odor and mucus, dryness during sexual intercourse. It should be clarified that the dysbacteriosis in gynecology is chronic, being mainly in a dormant state, but at the same time prone to unexpected relapses. With such exacerbations, a woman does not experience the joy of intimacy and becomes more irritated.

Either way, the disease must be treated in a timely manner, as if preventing clinical complications. For this, it is necessary to undergo a detailed examination in the women's consultation, and also to pass all the tests for the detection of pathogenic microflora.

After the final diagnosis is made, the elimination of the dysbacteriosis disease in gynecology, whose treatment is complex, begins and is calculated not only for the destruction of pathogenic microbes, but also for the rehabilitation of the normal microflora of the vagina. To suppress the focus of the disease specialist recommends vaginal suppositories and antibiotics that have antiseptic characteristics, and to normalize the habitual microflora appoints effective dietary supplements and various vitamin complexes aimed at occupying the microflora with useful bacteria.

At the end of the course of treatment it is necessary to undergo a second examination and re-take tests, and then maintain your body with sour-milk products in order to avoid further exacerbations.
