What if I do not get a scooter?

With the onset of cold weather, motorcycle owners are increasingly having problems with starting the engine. No matter how simple the device, but immediately determine why it does not start a scooter, it is quite difficult. Let's try to find out the reasons for this "whim" and find methods for their elimination.

We will not detail the general arrangement of the scooter, we will start right away from the motor. Everyone knows that the internal combustion engine needs three components: spark ignition, fuel supply and compression in the cylinder. And since there are no miracles in the technique, it is necessary to begin with the verification of these three elements. These are the so-called "typical" problems.

Why the scooter does not start: stage-by-stage diagnostics

1. Ignition system. Diagnosis begins with a candle check. It should be unscrewed and examined the condition of the electrodes. The presence of fuses or damage to the insulator clearly indicates the need to replace the candle. Often when it is examined on the electrodes, a deposit is found. It can also cause the loss of a spark. It is advisable to carefully remove the nuggets from the contacts with a "nulevka" and check the gap between the electrodes.

The reason for the disappearance of the spark may also be a "bay" of a candle. If it was wet when removing the part, it should be well dried and inserted back into the cap. After that, you need to check for a spark. For this, the scooter includes an ignition, a candle with a lower electrode or a threaded part is applied to the cylinder and the crankshaft is scrolled. If there is a spark between the electrodes, the part is working.

Important! Check the spark plug for sparking in special rubber gloves. Keep it away from the hole in the head. Otherwise, the gasoline vapors coming out of it can ignite.

2. Power supply system. Is there a spark, but does not start a scooter? Check the fuel supply. There may be two reasons: either it is not served at all, or it is served with excess. Diagnosis should begin with a gas tank, gradually passing through the entire power system. If the fuel cock and fuel lines are clean, then proceed to the carburetor. It must be carefully removed, disassembled and thoroughly rinsed.
One remark! Never try to blow the carburetor's jets with your mouth. The slightest droplets of moisture will create even more problems than accumulated dirt!

3. Compression. If the electrician and the power supply system are not identified when diagnosing the problems, but still there is not a scooter, what to do next? Now the piston group will be checked. If it is working, when the piston moves to the top dead center, a certain pressure must be created in the cylinder. It can be checked with a special compressometer. If the values on the instrument are below the parameters set for your engine type, then the compression rings need to be replaced. And this is a major engine repair.

Do not start a scooter: supernumerary reasons

Modern scooters can be launched from the button, and from the kickstarter (from the "legs"). There is such a situation that the engine does not start in the first way, and the second one starts with a half-turn. In this case, check the main fuse. It is located in the battery compartment. Most often the faulty fuse takes over the voltage, and the battery does not have enough power to start the engine. The fuse must be replaced.

The second supernumerary reason that the scooter does not start, there may be an old fuel in the gas tank. The quality of our gasoline is unnecessary. Try to drain the remaining fuel in the tank and replace it with a new one.

And one more tip in conclusion: if you doubt your abilities to understand the causes of the malfunction yourself, do not take risks. Not everything is learned in practice! It is better to consult specialists. After all, the cause of engine failure may be the failure of factory adjustments.
