Warming Ointments

It is always necessary to have painkillers at hand , as there are situations when there is simply no possibility to seek help from a specialist. That's why you need to know about the classic methods of anesthesia.

Warming ointments are good for trauma, hypothermia and frostbite, pain, and they are used to treat colds. These drugs can penetrate deeply into the skin, they act only locally, without affecting the entire body, have no age restrictions (suitable for both children and adults). You can buy them without a prescription at the pharmacy.

The most accessible means for removing edematous and inflammatory processes are tablets and ointments. It should be noted that ointments for the removal of inflammation are not used for problems in the thoracic and lumbar regions, because the inflamed disc is too deep.

In this case it is necessary to use warming ointments for the back ("Ben-Gay", "Capsicum", "Apizartron", "Viprosal", "Finalgon"), which effectively relieve muscle spasms. Ointments containing non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, Indomethacin) are best able to relieve pain in the joints of the limbs, as well as in the sacroiliac ligament. In these places the joints are on the surface itself.

Before applying warming ointments, it is necessary to grind the sore spot thoroughly to noticeable reddening of the skin. Thus, the effect of exposure is greatly enhanced. It is useful to know that gels have an even greater penetrating power than ointments, especially if dimethylsulfoxide is present in the formulation.

Warming ointments are also used to anaesthetize injured areas. Ointment "Dip-Relief" cools the skin, anesthetizes the bruised place and has anti-edematous effect. More powerful means - ointments-analgetics "Ketonal", "Fastum-gel", "Indovazin". The latest ointment includes troxevasin, which reduces the severity of bruising and helps strengthen the walls of blood vessels.

If a severe bruise develops in the injury, it is better to use heparin, leech extract, or horse chestnut extracts (Lioton-1000, Eszin, Girudalgon, Bruise-off, Venitan). These drugs quickly enough to eliminate bruises, reduce soreness, remove swelling of tissues.

Warming ointments for children with colds are used exactly the same as for adults, only with more caution and after the appointment of a doctor. These ointments, as a rule, contain eucalyptus oil and camphor. Special ointments are Pulmex Baby, Doctor Taise, Barsuchok, Doctor Mom, Teraflu Bro, Eucalyptus Balm for Colds, and a simple turpentine ointment also works well.

Often, warming ointments are used by athletes for the treatment of stretching, as well as for warming up the muscles after cooling or just before workouts. Such ointments are well applied to newly injured vengeance before physical exercises, because with dynamic work the effect of the remedy increases and the pain passes. The most common among the athletes funds are "Finalgon", "Viprosal", "Apizartron", "Nikofleks" and "Dolgit", etc.

Pregnant women are contraindicated ointments containing non-steroidal drugs and irritants. In the period of bearing the child, if possible, it is necessary to refuse the use of most ointments, as they can penetrate the placenta, adversely affecting the baby's well-being. The most safe means for pregnant women today are recognized turpentine ointment and "Fastum-gel." Before using them, however, you should consult your doctor.
