Potatoes: growing and grooming in the suburban area

Potatoes are a culture without which any dacha parcel does not work. Getting a good harvest of this plant of the Paslen family involves carrying out various agrotechnical measures and observing growing technologies.

First of all, it is necessary to properly prepare the tubers for planting. Potatoes, growing and caring for which is not particularly complicated, is more resistant to decay if it contains solonin in its tissues. Therefore, in the autumn, the tubers need to be planted. To do this, they are laid out on a sunny spot for about two weeks. During this time they are turned over several times. Use for planting only a healthy, correct form of planting material. The optimal weight of tubers is about 60-100 g.

In the spring, the potatoes must be germinated. For this, a month before planting, they are taken out of the cellar and laid out in one layer on the floor of the room with an air temperature of at least 18 ° C. Thus, the potatoes are kept for two weeks. Then the temperature is lowered to 10-15 ° C. The planting is started a month after the germination began. So it's easy to get an earlier crop of such a plant as a potato. Cultivation and care in the future will consist in hilling, harrowing, weeding, watering and feeding.

In the fall, the site must be dug to a depth of about 35 cm. Before that, 40 kg of humus or manure per 10 m ^{2 are} scattered on the field. In this case, caring for potatoes for the next year will be simpler. In addition, you can apply mineral fertilizing - 300 grams of ammonium (ammonium) and ammonium sulphate, as well as half a kilo of superphosphate. It is not allowed to apply potato fertilizers to potatoes.

The tubers are buried in the soil for 6-10 cm. The distance in the rows between the bushes should be approximately 30 cm, and between the rows - 65 cm. By sticking to this scheme, one can grow a good crop of such a plant as a potato. Cultivation and care for him, as already mentioned above, will continue to be primarily in watering and hilling. For the first time, the soil needs to be loosened before the first shoots appear. Such an event is considered the most effective measure in terms of controlling weeds. To skip this stage is not worth it. Otherwise, getting rid of unnecessary vegetation on the potato field will be difficult in the future.

After germination (at a height of about 15 cm) loosening is repeated, simultaneously bumping the bushes. This will improve the air exchange in the soil and give the tubers to develop in a looser layer. Potatoes, cultivation and care for which also involves sufficient watering, hills once more in a season - about twenty days after the first loosening.

Water this culture rarely, but very abundantly. The soil should be soaked at least 50 cm deep. It is necessary to pour the potatoes immediately after germination, with the flowering of the plant and at the end of flowering.

By observing such technologies, it is possible to grow a good crop of such a plant as potatoes. Care and growing, as you can see, are primarily in the proper preparation of seeds, hilling and sufficient watering.
