Bites of blindness - like a red-hot iron
Basically, the horns "hunt" for their victims near water bodies or on large open glades. In the city they are rarely found, but huge colonies fly in small villages, along the shores of lakes, as well as in sparsely populated villages. Bites of blindness are much more painful than mosquitoes, so a person, especially a small child, must feel it. On the skin immediately appears a small pimple, which, maybe not immediately, but necessarily causes severe itching and burning. Sometimes biting blindness causes a few drops of blood from the wound.
The bite of a horsefly (the photo of which says that it is a large enough insect) is dangerous only because the anticoagulant introduced by this insect prevents coagulation in the blood. As a result, the body immediately reacts to it by itching and irritation. The person subconsciously starts to rub or scratch this place and can bring dirt or infection. As a result, suppuration may occur, sometimes escalating into malaise and fever.
Bites of dazzling, as a rule, are palpable, but not dangerous. However, to prevent itching or swelling, it is best to rub this area with dry soda powder, and then treat the wound with any antiseptic, for example, a green.
Alcohol solution slightly dry the wound, but if the swelling does not pass, you can lubricate it with a tincture of propolis, sold in any pharmacy. Sometimes the most common ice or a compress of sour cream helps.
Doctors recommend immediately after a bite to wash the affected area with soapy water and only then do the lotions with a bandage moistened with vodka or soda solution. It is desirable to cheat gauze every fifteen minutes.
However, it is not easier to fight with the consequences that blindness bites leave, but with their root causes, it is much easier. Therefore, resting on the nature by the lake or in the woods, one should not forget about the existence of the danger of a raid of these insects, which are just waiting to attack.
These intrusive parasites have excellent eyesight, so they fly most often to colorful and dark clothes, sometimes completely ignoring light colors. That's why, when going to nature, it's better to wear white or beige clothes with long sleeves, try not to walk near the water in the sun, but wait out the heat in a shaded place, as the activity of the hind legs increases in bright light.
