Votkinskoe Reservoir: description of the reservoir, recreation, fishing

In the sixties of the XX century, one of the largest reservoirs in Russia appeared as a result of the construction of a dam during the construction of a hydroelectric power station. It was located on the river Kama. Votkinskoe Reservoir (map below) is located on the territory of the Republic of Udmurtia ( Votkinsk) and the Perm Territory, near the settlements of Tchaikovsky, Krasnokamsk, Osa and Okhansk.

From the side of the Perm region in the vicinity of the city of Chaikovsk there are five recreation centers. The Votkinskoe reservoir is quite deep, therefore, services are offered for the rental of boats, sailboats, motor ships and yachts. This place is also suitable for beach holidays. Nearby there are protected forest areas: Plotishche and Vekoshinka. They are thousands of hectares of forest with a diverse landscape, rich berries and mushrooms. Also there are berths for parking of cruise ferries. In this area construction of sports complexes and boarding houses is conducted.
On the territory of the Udmurt Republic, near the village of Nechkino, there is a ski resort. Here is the natural national park Nechkinsky. It is a unique natural zone, which has not been affected by any glacial period. In this place are concentrated all objects of local tourism.
