Origins and childhood
Medinsky Vladimir Rostislavovich was born on July 18, 1970 in the town of Smele, Cherkasy region of the then Ukrainian SSR. His father, Rostislav Ignatievich Medinsky, was a colonel of the Soviet Army, who took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe, his mother, Alla Medinskaya, specializing as a therapist. Due to the duty of the Medina-elder family, they constantly had to change their place of residence, Vladimir's childhood was spent in military garrisons. Only in the 80's the family finally moved to Moscow.
