Order of Honor and the Order of the Badge of Honor

The Order of Honor is a Russian state award, established by the Russian president in 1994. This distinction is awarded to citizens for their great achievements in production, charity, research, social, public and cultural activities, which significantly improved the lives of people, as well as for the merits in the upbringing of the younger generation, maintenance of law and order and the training of qualified personnel. As a rule, the Order is awarded to people who already have other state decorations.

The order of wearing

The Order of Honor should be worn on the chest on the left side, with other awards, this distinctive sign is placed after the Order of Merit. For everyday wearing and special occasions a miniature copy of the award is provided. On civilian clothes they wear the ribbon of the order.

Description

The distinctive sign is made of silver and looks like an eight-pointed cross, which is covered with blue enamel. In its center there is a round medallion, it is covered with white enamel and contains the image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, which is bordered by a laurel wreath. The Order of Honor has a diameter of 42 millimeters. The reverse side is smooth, without enamel, in its lower part there is a relief sign "No", and after it the number of the award is engraved. With the help of a ring and a lug, the insignia is connected to a pentagonal shoe, which is covered with a blue-colored moire silk ribbon with a longitudinal white stripe. The width of the strip is 2.5 millimeters, and the width of the strip itself is 24 millimeters. From the right edge of the tape, the strip lags 5 millimeters.

Wearing a miniature and ribbon

A miniature copy of the Order of Honor is worn on the shoe. Between the ends of the cross the distance is 15.4 millimeters, from the top of the lower corner and up to the middle of the upper side, the height of the pad is 19.2 millimeters. The upper side has a length of 10 millimeters, and each side is 16 millimeters. The length of the forming the lower angle of the sides is 10 millimeters.

In the case of wearing the order ribbon on uniform, use a bar with a height of 8 millimeters. On the tape is attached a miniature metallic (with enamel) image of a distinctive sign in the form of an outlet. Between the ends of the cross the distance is 13 millimeters, the diameter of the rosette is 15 millimeters.

Cavaliers of the Order of Honor

This distinction was awarded to state and political figures, including Vladimir Putin. Many heads and workers of various Russian institutions and enterprises, artists, servicemen were honored to wear the Order of Honor. It was given to church officials, doctors, cosmonauts and even foreign citizens (for example, Ukrainian citizen Sophia Rotaru). Often received it and athletes. Thus, skater Evgeni Plushenko was awarded the Order of Honor two times: in 2007 and in 2014.

Order of the Badge of Honor

This award was established in 1935 in the USSR and was awarded until the collapse of the country, and then was replaced by the order, which we now considered. The distinctive mark was awarded for high achievements in research, production, state, cultural, sports, social and other socially useful activities, and besides, for the manifestation of civic prowess. Not only citizens of the Soviet Union, but also associations, enterprises, institutions, as well as whole cities, districts and other settlements were awarded the Order. The award was also given to foreign citizens and enterprises.

Description of the award

The Order of the Badge of Honor is presented in the shape of an oval, framed by oak branches on each side. In the center are the figures of a worker and a worker who carry banners symmetrically on the right and left of them. On the banners there is the inscription: "Workers of all countries, unite!" At the top of the order there is a five-pointed star, and under it there is a relief inscription "USSR", below it there is an inscription "Badge of Honor". The star and banners are covered with red-ruby enamel, along the contours they are fringed with gilded rims. The inscriptions and banners of the banners are gilded, and the general background of the order, its lower part and oak branches are oxidized. The order itself is made of silver, its width is 32.5 millimeters, and its height is 46 millimeters. With the help of a ring and a lug, it is connected to a pentagonal shoe, covered with a light pink moire silk ribbon with two longitudinal stripes along the edges of the orange color. The width of the strips is 3.5 millimeters, the width of the tape is 24 millimeters. Awarded with the Order of "Badge of Honor" wear it on the chest (on the left side).

Interesting fact

The people received the award "Funny Guys". The fact is that very shortly before the establishment of the distinctive sign a film with this name appeared on the screens, and the image presented on the order caused direct associations with it.
