Ultrasonography of the kidneys and bladder

Ultrasound is one of the modern research methods, absolutely harmless and allows to learn a lot. That is why it is widely used to diagnose mammary gland pathologies, thyroid, pelvic organs, abdominal cavity, kidneys, and also helps monitor the course of pregnancy and constant monitoring of fetal and placenta development.

For some of the above types of ultrasound, training is required, pre-planned observations, which will then be taken into account when characterizing the patient's condition.

Indications for the appointment of ultrasound of the bladder and kidneys are:

- diseases of the urethra;

- results of laboratory tests (presence of erythrocytes in urine);

- the patient's complaints about the symptoms characteristic of various kidney diseases;

- changes in the indicators of laboratory studies characteristic of various diseases of the urinary system;

- stones in the kidney or bladder;

- the presence of an additional cavity next to the bladder, diverticulum, filled with fluid;

- Tumors and suspicion of the presence of a cyst in the bladder;

- After trauma.

Ultrasonography of the kidneys and bladder also allows to determine the presence of a parasitic space of the urinary stench.

Kidney disease affects every twentieth, which can not but disturb. Before starting the procedure, a special gel is applied to the patient's skin, which reduces air access and facilitates easy movement of the sensor.

After the study, the patient can return to his diet if the urologist has not stated any contraindications. On average, the study takes about 5 minutes. It is absolutely painless and does not cause discomfort. It is desirable to pass it as directed by a doctor.
