Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, Buryatia

OJSC "Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant" is a large city-forming airline located in the capital of Buryatia. It produces Mi-8/171 helicopters of various modifications, repair and modernize old equipment.

The beginning of the way

In 1939 on the outskirts of the city of Ulan-Ude workshops were built, where gliders and aircraft engines were repaired, components for the Irkutsk Aviation Plant were manufactured. When the war began, most Soviet aircraft were destroyed in the first weeks of the conflict. The army badly needed aviation equipment. In a matter of months, with heroic efforts, the workers erected new buildings. The workshops were converted into a full-fledged plant, where they began assembling the aircraft of the designs of Petlyakov and Lavochkin.

Work days

After the war, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant for the first time mastered the production of an aircraft with a jet engine MiG-15. The model was superior to piston counterparts. 1500 units were produced, 450 of which were fought during the Korean conflict. One of the machines is installed on the pedestal in front of the checkpoint.

Over the years, U-UAZ has produced thousands of MiG-15, La-7, MiG-27M, Yak-25, An-24, Su-25, Mi-8, Ka-25, Mi-17 (171) . No airline has such an impressive product line in its assets.

Description

Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (U-UAZ) is one of the largest aviation enterprises in the world. Today, this is a powerful, dynamically developing production, capable of producing machinery with outstanding characteristics. Every third helicopter in Russia is made in the capital of Buryatia. Machines of the Mi-8/171 family are operated in 40 countries of the world.

Over the last five years, the number of rotorcraft produced has doubled. Sales of machinery, spare parts and services increased 4-fold. Unique technologies accumulated in the past, when U-UAZ was assembled military and civilian aircraft, are used in the production of helicopters.

Russian and foreign partners are willing to work with the enterprise. Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant often works under the order, operatively manufacturing helicopters with those characteristics and completing those equipment that customers specify. Other companies need several years to reorient production for a specific modification. Accounting for customer requests and excellent quality became a trademark of U-UAZ.

Production

Over 77 years of history Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant has made over 8000 units. This is the only specialized enterprise in the country where both airplanes and helicopters were produced. Entering in 2007 in the united holding "Russian helicopters", U-UAZ concentrated on assembling the best Russian helicopters - Mi-8/171 models.

At the moment, the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant produces the following modifications of the Mi-8/171:

  • Passenger;
  • Medical;
  • Multi-purpose;
  • Fire-fighting;
  • Search and rescue;
  • In the VIP-performance.

Modernization

Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant continues to improve its production and technical base. One of the central projects that will affect technical re-equipment is the latest version of the Mi-8/17 family - the Mi-171A2 helicopter.

Also, the modernization will affect the machining section of control system parts. The plant will receive CNC machines, control and measuring systems, auxiliary equipment. In 2015, to optimize the serial production of the Mi-171A2, 20 machines were delivered to U-UAZ. Prepare for operation 10 universal complexes for the manufacture and refinement of special technical equipment, as well as four processing centers.

The update and blanking and stamping production touched: in 2015, a cutting complex was opened. The management plans to renew the machinery park by 80%. We will purchase exclusively automated processing equipment that does not require manual control.

Now U-UAZ is preparing to create a separate paint body. The sites will be equipped with computerized painting and drying chambers, in which a special program will monitor the parameters. In addition, soon the plant should receive three automatic lines for the production of protective coatings.

Personnel policy

The plant attracts new employees with a dominant position in the Russian helicopter industry and serious development prospects. In addition, U-UAZ did not conduct staff reductions. Administration in full and without delays pays all employees wages and even increases it.

Employees of U-UAZ are provided with an extended social package. It includes compulsory social and insurance payments, annual paid leave, material assistance, the possibility of training at the expense of the enterprise, various additional payments to young workers and specialists, the issuance of interest-free loans, treatment in the factory dispensary and much more.

Siberian hardening

Last years the countries of Europe have faced unprecedented frosts under -30 ° C, which were also accompanied by heavy snowfalls. Cold weather and precipitation paralyzed the lives of many European countries, complicating the work of emergency services. The air authorities of the European Union, because of frosts, limited the flights of helicopters - in fact, the main means of saving people in such extreme conditions.

The EU helicopter fleet consists of non-Russian aircraft. Nevertheless, a number of European countries preferred the products of the holding company "Russian Helicopters", including Mi-171 helicopters, which can be effectively used in conditions of severe cold and icing.
