TV series about doctors foreign and Russian: list

TV series about doctors have long taken a strong position on television. They are so exciting, and sometimes intriguing, that the viewer watches them without interruption. The benefit of the modern film industry does not keep itself waiting. The article presents the best serials about doctors who became cultic in Russia and abroad.

Phenomenon of medical serials

The phenomenon of such thematic films can be discussed endlessly. They suddenly burst into TV screens and became so fond of the viewer that the directors began to stamp them in huge numbers. Of course, the quality of some of them leaves much to be desired. But the series about doctors, the list of which is presented in this article, definitely differ from the general mass.

In Russia, love for medicine on TV screens was born in 1999, after the show "Ambulance", which in the United States was going for five years and was considered the best in its genre. Prior to this, in our country, only a couple of times in a series of television films were addressed to the medical topic. But hardly anyone will remember "The days of the surgeon Mishkin," where he played a brilliant Oleg Efremov or nine-episode film "The Open Book." The topic was not in demand at that time, but now every Russian TV channel is proud to have released another TV series about doctors. The Russian spectator also began his acquaintance with the film work of Americans.

"Ambulance"

The series was released in 1994. His creator was Michael Crichton, who himself worked as a doctor in the waiting room. Actually, the idea was based on the life experience of the producer.

No TV company wanted to take on TV series about doctors. Foreign producers also did not show any desire to take up production. Thus, the idea and almost completely written script lay on the shelf for more than ten years. The move was made by the production center of S. Spielberg, who filmed the pilot series. He worked in the team for another year, and then left.

The medical drama was broadcast for a long fifteen years. During this time, she won 23 Emmy Awards and was nominated countless times.

TV shows about doctors raise quite important topics and try to find answers to difficult questions. In the "First Aid" are discussed such incurable diseases as ALS, Down syndrome, Parkinson's disease. Particular attention is paid to HIV and AIDS, including those detected by doctors themselves.

The directors touch not only the medical aspects, but also social and personal.

"First Aid" brought frenzied popularity to the then unknown actor George Clooney.

"Anatomy of Passion"

Often, the translation of the title of the series or film is not done accurately in order to attract a particular category of viewer. So it happened with this medical drama. Its actual name is "Anatomy of Gray" - a play on words. The creator of the series Shonda Rhimes draws an analogy with the well-known textbook - "Gray's Anatomy" and the name of the main character - Meredith Gray.

Telenovella was not created as a typical series about doctors. Foreign viewers since 2005 have watched the history of strong women, who had to experience much not only professionally, but also in love.

Now there are shooting the twelfth season. An interesting feature of the series is that each season ends with a tragedy (shooting in a hospital, a plane crash, the death of the main characters). Fans of the series do not like Sh. Rhimes for the dramatic care of the beloved heroes. Of all the actors who wished to leave the series, only the heroines Catherine Heigl and Sandra O just left town.

TV series about doctors tell about different diseases. In "Anatomy of Passion" is most often mentioned Alzheimer's disease.

"Clinic"

The series, consisting of nine seasons, was broadcast from 2001 to 2010. His genre is defined as a comedy, but it contains many scenes of a tragic character.

The narration is conducted on behalf of the protagonist - Dr. Dorian, who describes what is happening around and sums up each series. During all seasons, three love lines develop (Turk and Espinosa, Cox and Jordan, Elliot Reed and JD). Unlike other sitcoms, "Clinic" was shot only on one camera and without the presence of spectators. Among the invited stars appearing on the series were Courteney Cox, Ryan Reynolds, Colin Farrell, Mandy Moore and others.

"Dr. House"

The main hero of the series, awarded with the Emmy and Peabody Awards, was the sarcastic and tactless Dr. House. He does not look like his colleagues, either externally or internally. The peculiarities of his behavior are explained by the fact that House is firmly seated on a narcotic substance in vicodin. He has been taking him for many years to drown out the terrible pain in his leg, due to which he has to move with a cane.

House is a specialist in nephrology and infectious diseases. Therefore, medicine is covered mainly in these areas. The leitmotif of the whole series was the drug addiction of the doctor, from which he does not want to be treated. Friends and colleagues are trying to influence him, but it is almost impossible.

The series is dominated by elements of a detective or medical investigation. House resorts to unusual methods of diagnosing, including conducting searches in the patient's home.

TV shows about doctors are quite lengthy. "Doctor House" was broadcast from 2004 to 2012 (eight seasons).

Although it can not be overlooked that there are about ten stories accurately copied from the American sitcom. And the main character Dr. Bykov very much reminds Dr. House of his sarcasm, and sometimes rudeness. Both of them broke on a motorcycle. In one of the series, Bykov walks with a cane.

There are other references to this series. For example, intern Levin is leaving for an internship in a fictitious clinic, where House works.

The creator of the series is a member of the KVN team and a graduate of the Chelyabinsk Medical Academy, Vyacheslav Dusmukhametov. He also became a screenwriter for the multi-part film "I'm flying" about medical practitioners.

The television series is very dynamic, because it talks about the everyday life of Sklif. There are no scheduled operations, all patients are emergency.
