Theater in the "South-Western" exists since 1977. Created by its director Valery Belyakovich. The theater is located in Moscow, on Vernadsky Avenue. The name is given to him in honor of the nearest metro station.

History of the theater

The theater on "Southwest" played its first performance in 1974. It was the "Marriage" of N. V. Gogol. The play was played by Sergei Belyakovich (the brother of the founder of the theater) and the famous actor Victor Avilov. The first performance was played in the Moscow Region club. Then the artists began to perform in the library building, where Valery Belyakovich worked as the head .

The official year of the opening of the theater is 1977. Since it was then that the artists received their premises on Vernadsky Avenue.

The theater (the metro station "Yugo-Zapadnaya") repeatedly staged prohibited plays. For that once was even closed for several months.

In 1986, the troupe first went on tour. Since then, the trips have become regular.

In 1985, the theater received the title of People. And in 1991 - the status of the state.

On the building of the theater, on the nearest residential staircase, hangs a sign: "Zhenya Lukashin lived here". In this house they shot a picture of E. Ryazanov "The Irony of Fate".

Premiere

Theater (m. "South-West") this season presents the premiere of the play "Portrait of Dorian Gray" based on the novel by Oscar Wilde. This is a cruel tale for adults lasting three hours. The story of Dorian Gray tells the viewer about real beauty, about the soul and about forgiveness. This performance is an experiment, a new vision of the work. The production is rather plastic than dramatic, as the most important events taking place in the life of Dorian are described in dance. D. Gray acts as a toy in the hands of higher forces, then as a person who leads the society to disintegration.

Artistic director

The theater on "Southwest" since 2011 lives under the strict guidance of the actor O. N. Leushin. Oleg Nikolaevich in 1991 graduated from the Sverdlovsk Theater Institute. Since 1992 he has been working in the troupe of the theater on the "South-Western" actor.

Oleg Nikolaevich is a brilliant artist. He can play both comedy, and tragedy, and a fairy tale. His characters make the viewer constantly doubt. And not only in complex things, but also in the simplest. In love, truth and its incomprehensibility, in the reality of life. Also, Oleg Nikolaevich himself makes us doubt the usual ideas about acting. The technique of his work is filigree. In this case, no one can say that O. Leushin works only on it. He plays his characters in such a way that it seems as if he himself is like them. But, despite this, it is impossible to find such a role, which is created on the principle "I am in the proposed circumstances." Every detail of his images is thought through to the smallest detail. Here everything matters: the lines of the makeup applied to the face, and every chance look.

The characters, played by O. N. Leushin, were awarded with awards. The year 1990 brought the artist an award at a festival held among theatrical schools in the city of Smolensk. His episodic role in the production of "Rhinoceros" was awarded. In 2000, Oleg Nikolayevich received an award from the editorial staff of the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets. He was awarded such a prize for his role in the production of "Caligula."

In 2003 Oleg Nikolaevich Leushin was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Reviews

Theater on the "South-West" reviews of their productions receives mostly positive and even enthusiastic. Actors, according to the public, are coping well with their roles, even if the performances are very complex and ambiguous. Their game makes you empathize with the characters, laughing and crying with them. Artists here are universal, they can do everything: sing and dance.

Young spectators really like children's productions. They receive after their viewing an unforgettable experience and a good mood for the whole day.
