Already at the beginning of the reader's career, he is fond of poetry by A. Akhmatova and B. Pasternak. Do not think that it was limited only to the Russian literary circle. Zhuravlyov is actively studying foreign works, and soon he has his favorite samples, which he gladly recites to the stunned audience. His interests included the works of P. Merimee and G. Maupassant. He proudly read the poems of his contemporaries: E. Bagritsky, V. Tikhonov, A. Tvardovsky, E. Evtushenko and A. Voznesensky.

The year 1930 was special for Dmitry Nikolaevich, since he was speaking with his program: Pushkin's Bronze Horseman, Mayakovsky's The Full Voice, Matreshischa, M. Zoshchenko, Sol, And E. Babel and Bobok F. FM Dostoevsky in the House of Writers. Successful year 1931 gradually turns into an equally happy year for a creative career. In 1937, he took second place in the First All-Union competition of reciters.
